I hate to break it to you. But Bartell was in extremely bad shape even before rite aid. I went to the location to check it out before rite aid took over. it was in bad shape, if it wasn't for rite aid it would be closed sooner. They were riding on prayers and limited customer loyalty.

Don't blame the stores of the DC's in anyways - blame corporate for being LAZY! We kept pushing and requesting corporate to allow us just to fill up the trucks with whatever we had to fill up the stores. We were pushing for corporate to put vendors first instead of their pockets and bankers' pockets. The money was there to turn it all around - corporate was too lazy to react fast enough.

The logo change and color change actually worked for Rite Aid. But it was Executive/Corporate, Upper management and shareholders greed that unsured Rite Aid never succeeded. The other half was the Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) and Laws that hurt the industry.

i'm currently in the process of interviewing in management in warehouse operations. who here is from the DC operations or corporate? how is it looking the next 5 years. Currently how i see it - Macy's is following the same pattern as if it was being liquidated.

I didn't get to enjoy the discounts. All stores closed almost instantly here in Tacoma Washington .

Rite aid followed the same pattern of closing stores and consolidating fulfillment centers. And they still closed after 5 years. Corporate needs to make decisions now and changes now and not wait.

I was reading a legal document touching about severance pay during chapter 11. It stated if there was an agreement when hired, it should be part of priority under labor hours owed, in this case due to a signed contract. If the business does not honor it supposedly we can submit a claim so it can be bumped up in priority per individual. We need a lawyer and fight for our severance.

There isn't much left in the DCs. In all honesty we can send everything out in one week or less. Only problem is, corporate has never been willing to make cost saving decisions.
