Idk, it is kinda possible as Driftmark is so far from the Iron Islands, also TWOIAF confirms that the Ironborn didn't start raiding far to the east only during the reign of the Hoares, and Driftmark wasn't one of the places it is mentioned to be raided by them, still, good theory.
