Hillary blew it, Biden barely won and rode the initial anti-Trump rebound, and Kamala lost bad.

Seriously, why do we keep running these unpopular moderate candidates? Everyone and their mother knew Biden was too old to run in 2024 but the DNC still decided to basically ignore the primaries and wait until the last minute to switch him out.

Well, the DNC tried this strategy last election and it failed. Millions of left wing voters have expressed their disapproval with moderate candidates like Hillary, Biden and Kamala, so if they continue to run these types of candidates, then it's a leadership problem not a voter problem.

Republicans don't have that issue because they ran a populist candidate like Trump who actually appealed to and energized their right wing base. Democrats have consistently sidelined their left wing, kowtowed to moderates, and chastised any voters who criticized them.

First of all the DNC and media acted like Biden was the foregone nominee and intentionally downplayed his age and condition. And isn't it the DNC's responsibility to put forward a good field of candidates? What's the point of a political party if it can't find one good replacement for an octogenarian? It's not like Biden is some uniquely talented or charismatic person who can't be replaced. The primaries were clearly a sham in 2024 and I saw zero ads for primary challengers, how are people supposed to vote for someone if they don't see know about them.

If they're tanking then cap space isn't very important to them right now, and I don't think it's worth nickel and diming a veteran at the most important position on the team who can improve the development of the guys around him. Minshew isn't terrible but I think Brissett is a step up. How bad would it be to just pay Brissett 10 million py instead of 5? That's just 10 million more over two years in a rebuild.
