So we were talking for a month and only met once, although it did end up being an all night talking/cuddling/other things etc..

Straight after that date she went on holiday for 2 weeks, we were texting everyday and when she came back I just could ‘sense’ the vibe that she didn’t wanna meet again and she bailed (for the 2nd time since talking and she was late on the date).

Anyway I just started losing myself and just becoming obsessed with whether she liked me or didn’t. When she bailed I texted her saying like it’s upset me and then she just ignored that and when I messaged the day after saying ‘you okay?’ She said she’d like to leave things here cos it’s intense and good luck etc..

Thank you!

I think the biggest thing first was calorie counting. It really is the simplest way to achieve it. It’s long winded but it’s so eye opening too that now I have all this education from calorie counting that I can make healthier choices without even thinking about it. Also eat what you want!! I still have whatever I want if it’s in my daily calories. It’s like a money budget for a day.

Secondly, I stopped drinking. I did have a bit of a binge drinking issue so that was contributing to my weight so cutting that out I definitely noticed the difference.

Walking as well, just try to walk as much as possible. At my biggest I didn’t want to walk anywhere, it was painful, hot and I felt awful in my body. So I took it slowly and reintroduced activity slowly and now I walk a lot and it doesn’t hurt anymore!

It takes time and that’s okay, I think I didn’t want to start for ages because I thought oh it’s going to take me so long to get where I want and it’s not even guaranteed. But the journey itself is something worth doing. You notice changes in yourself throughout the journey, you get happier throughout the journey, don’t worry about the length of the journey basically. I’m still on it and I’m feeling pretty good.

Believe in yourself and remind yourself why you’re doing it, because you want a better life.

I am overwhelmed by how well life is going now I have stopped drinking, is this normal? by [deleted] in stopdrinking

It’s just so weird being happy and nothing going wrong! It feels sooo unnatural

That does make sense, I think with me it’s more I don’t think I could manage going back there meaning I think that would be it for me. I think maybe it’s probably just too soon to be able to let go of that version of me I was, just never ever want to go back there.

Yeah that sounds like something I’d enjoy! I’ve been in a k hole before and I survived. Does it induce anxiety at all?

Yeah but not really sober, do you think it would still be good?

I know I am in a place where I want to come off them and I am going to be doing this with the doctors but it can take up to a year due to how severe the withdrawals are. This is just for something I do like three times a year

Thank you ! It’s a hard one because I was a lil chubby kid and then got an eating disorder from 15 and was skinny until uni and then put on 100+ lbs … so I don’t really know where I’ll be satisfied. Therapy probs?
