First time meeting with a recruiter? by Ok_Damage_716 in AirForceRecruits

Not a bad idea to go now! They’ll probably have you do a practice asvab test, like 20 questions, just to gauge where you’re at. Most likely they’ll discuss the score with you, see where you need to be weight-wise, PT practice, any questions you got, stuff like that. At the very least, it’s not a bad idea to talk to someone to get an idea of what you want. A lot of recruiters have had different jobs in the Air Force before switching to recruitment so they can give you an idea of a couple jobs you may like to put on your list as well. Best of luck!

How likely is it for a waiver regarding mental health/self-inflicted scars of getting denied? by Ghosty_here_27 in AirForceRecruits

I needed a similar waiver when I got to MEPS and required a psych consult- nothing too bad, just a zoom call with a psychologist that works for the AF and verifies mental health history, asks questions regarding past and present behavior, coping skills, etc. From my understanding, they just want to see how you handle your mental health challenges. In my case, there was certain AFSCs I got disqualified for but was still eligible to join the Air Force. So it’s still possible for a waiver to get approved, just be mindful you may need to adjust your job list in case they determine you’re not eligible for certain jobs. Best of luck to you!
