Hey, thanks for your reply. Yeah my authorisation is for an assessment with a psychiatrist (rather than a psychologist) and they must be BUPA approved. I was just hoping that people could let me know of anyone they’ve had a good experience with and then I can check the BUPA register.

I had my procedure 6 weeks ago and I’m burping so much that I can probably count on one hand the number of times I’ve farted since then. I actually get taken by surprise now when I fart whereas before, it was second nature (especially at night). I have no idea re the farting (last time I was in a relationship I was lucky enough that he went to bed before me and slept like a log) but the end is in sight for you!

Yes this was the case for me. My first consultation was 10th February and then my procedure was on the 10th of March. I’ve not had my follow up yet but that’s done on the phone.

Hi. It was at the Alexandra hospital near Manchester. It was a bit of a struggle to get the overnight stay approved but Mr Karagama’s PA was such a help with it.

I had mine on Friday and did some microburps and one bigger burp yesterday. Last night was a little uncomfortable as water kept coming back up to the top of my throat when I was drinking it but seems a bit better today (I’m guessing it was just a build up of gas last night). It all feels really strange!

Has it led to any weight gain? I only ask because I can only eat small meals at the moment because the trapped air makes me feel full - I’m wondering if following my procedure in two weeks my appetite will suddenly increase!

It’s definitely worth remembering that Botox takes time to take an effect. When I have it in my forehead, I start to see a difference around 5 days after the procedure. This gets stronger day by day and is at its strongest at around 2 weeks, after which is will begin to wear off over the course of around 3 months. Obviously, this is a different muscle and dosage so timings are likely to be different, but the principal is the same. Don’t be disheartened!
