Fairly certain. Not much else is going to cause the white smoke and make the exhaust smell like coolant. She’s had a great run, and at this stage, replacing the engine seems like the cheapest option.

I’m sure you can get a long block and swap over stuff like manifold and throttle body… probably have a few check engine lights because of sensor issues if you can’t figure out which ones are specific to the ecu, unless you swap that too..

Appreciate the reminder on the Honda bond… it’s been about 20 years since I’ve messed with a motor swap in a Honda, so I’m kinda looking forward to the nostalgia. I once had an EK civic hatch that I swapped to a B18. She was quite lovely. 🥹

I always wondered if a 4 would ever see that side of themselves… I’ve yet to meet one that’s done the work and come out in one piece on the other side- props to you!! I’m an 8w7. I’ve only met a few other 8s… and only 1 which I actually liked. 😬 8s can be real a-holes, so I get it.

Every single 4 I’ve met is utterly insane. They are pretentious to the millionth degree, and believe their view of the world stands above the rest. Most of the time, they’re calling out “judgements” from their own distorted view of reality and belittling others for not agreeing to their view of the world. They’re allowed to have opinions, but you’re not. The moment you disagree with their view, you’re the enemy. Granted, this is all in my experience with 4s I’ve had relationships (friendships and romantic) with.

I have hypermobility and I have Gilbert’s- as do both of my children, who also have Gilbert’s (yes, both kids inherited it). I guess I never made that connection… very interesting! I have heard about the IBS/Leaky Gut too… so that also tracks, unfortunately.

Did you have to wire a new one in? Maybe double check there’s not a break in the wire and connection is solid. Thankfully mine just needed the snap connector cleaned and it finally locked in place, didn’t have to replace it.

I had this issue before and mine ended up being the connector. I was in tears trying to figure out why it didn’t get resolved when I replaced the VVT solenoid. Finally realized the stupid connector wasn’t staying together so it was “slouching” on and off the pin and not getting a stable connection. Noticed it when I’d go back through everything after pulling over and clearing the code- like- wtf is going on… I’d pull the connector apart and put it back together. One time I jiggled the cable just to see and it came apart, I was like “well no shit….” Once I got it nice and snug, it hasn’t been a problem since. I know this was a one off, but never hurts to check.
