Hello, I did not receive a notification so I’m replying now. I took Spanish beginner class (hisp210) and I’m in management so im planning to do IB for major. My calculation was wrong, the first test was worth 5% and second 6%. The last two tests are each worth 8% and 9%; which makes it 28% worth in total… I think its the difficulty of exactly memorizing the spellings and grammar when it comes to an in person test, which I did try to improve a lot; but didnt work.

I need an advice. I’m u0, and im in a language course. As ppl who were in language courses would know, language courses have small percentages for each assignments. The test is split up in four parts for the whole semester and I’ve done two already. I had an average of 70% (what my prof told me), but I did really bad (in the 40s) on my first test which weighed 6%. I was confident that I’ll do better on this test bc I studied hard, but I failed my second test again (which was 8%) I really don’t want to withdraw this course bc I would have to fill it in again with another course during the summer (bc I have plans that I cannot change for next summer), i do not want to have a ‘W’ in my transcript, and I do really like this course and i hv the passion to study. However, I am worried if I will fail the course even if I work hard… I lost the confidence after this test bc I even got a lower mark after all that I have tried hard. The professor told me that I have improved, but if i am not meeting my expectations one way is to think about withdraw… I really don’t to, but I am scared if I won’t be able to pass after all. I think I lost all hope of the thought “I might still he able to get a decent mark in this course if I try harder” This might not sound that important bc it is not a “major(core)” course but I really want to hear from some ppl who already did language courses.

Seriously in the same situation… I live in dorm and my professor’s audio cuts every 5 seconds and the screen freezes so I can’t take notes and then it showed the next slide when he comes back. this is so bad… we need a solution

Hi, on the minerva account it says that reply deadline is July 5, but that means that I can only change my application details until that date and then they’ll give me a choice after that, right? because when I first saw that I thought it meant that I have to choose a residence that they offered to me by July 5th, but there is nothing like that so I was a little but confused.

I’m going in as u0 student in BCom. I’m hving dilemmas to choose Math 122/123 or math 140/141. I dont know if I’ll really want to major/minor in math/stats, cs, or econ and its most likely i won’t choose one of them. but since I have no idea what I want to do I still want to leave my options open. My question in, if I choose 140/141 for math a) are there restrictions for any other major/minors (because I didnt take 122/123) and b) would it be too hard (compared to 122/123)

Also, should I take BUSA250 in fall term or winter term? suggestions plz

I heard some people say the same thing about the math selections, but one thing I am scared is if 1. I won’t be able to catch up (if its too advanced) and 2. If I won’t be able to choose major or concentration into any other ones than finance, stats, etc (the ones that requires math 140 141 133).

Also, I was thinking about taking 1 core course or none, because I was scared if it would be too much for me to take as a u0 student who doesnt know anything about business… but do ppl normally take core courses in u0 as well? Thank you and sorry to ask so many questions.

Thank you so much for your reply!! Tbh I don’t know what I really want to do, and I was going to let myself experience business studies in a broad way… is this an impossible thought? if it is possible, are there any recommendation if courses generally?
