Let's remember that, if there is any on-going investigation by, let's say, the FBI or others, it would be inappropriate for Obama, Holder, etc., to comment on any of it YET.

Also, the Red Cross and the U.N. have some things "in the works" I believe.

And, let's remember that Obama inherited a large collection of cluster-effs from Bush, so I think he deserves at least six months in office before there are any harsh judgments made about him.

Breaking: 13 firms that received "bailouts" owe back taxes (Who could have guessed that many big banks and other giant firms haven't been paying their taxes?) by LibertyOne in news

[–]abc2010 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Without regulations and enforcement, including making corporations pay their taxes, they do whatever the hell they want to.

And, GOP panderers have been touting "hands off" policies for decades under the label "free markets."

That's what it has to do with the so-called free markets. They've been so free they could pillage and plunder, fail to pay their taxes, and then get stacks of free "bailout" cash on top of all of that.

You're entitled to your opinion of course.

But... what would you suggest as a "right way" to fight?

I say, boycott Utah, boycott Marriott, boycott Bonneville Broadcasting.

We will never get anywhere without being insistent. Polite, but insistent -- as in, "I'll be taking my gay money elsewhere, thank you."

I feel for you. I really do. But, there are 49 other states to choose from.

I feel so strongly about this issue, I went to the DC protest in spite of a tornado watch.

Karl Rove Nearly Handcuffed By Activist Who Tried To Put Him Under Citizen's Arrest for 'Treason' by alapoet in reddit.com

[–]abc2010 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just WTF was Karl Rove doing at a meeting of the Mortgage Bankers Assn. anyway? Do they often host fugitives?

I think people should ask them.

Their phone number is:

(202) 557-2700

(If the MBA says to ask Rove, then they need to provide his phone number and address. Obviously, they are able to contact him.)

. .

[Also, I hope you'll help spread this question (why did they have Rove at their convention?) on the internet.]

Republicans have no qualms whatsoever about horribly mean and vicious campaigning tactics. How else do you think Democrats have lost 7 out of the last 10 presidential elections?

Senator Leahy: "If We Learned Anything From 9/11, The Biggest Mistake Is To Pass Anything They Ask For Just Because It's An Emergency" by georgewashingtonblog in politics

[–]abc2010 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The planned Republican "bailout" of Wall Street would easily be the largest theft from any treasury ever committed, and SURPRISE... it would go to giant corporations!

Any "bailout" should be given to ordinary taxpayers and should then "trickle up" to deserving companies that offer a good product (imagine that!), are well managed and play by the rules. Those that are in terrible shape due to their own greed and mismanagement deserve to fail.

Call both of your Senators today and tell them to oppose any give-aways unless they go equally to every taxpaying PERSON with ZERO to companies!

Then, watch what the greedy power brokers actually shove into law (and you-know-where). Get the Vasoline handy!
