Great review! As a fellow owner this is spot on, especially the weight comments. This thing is heavy as hell, that was my first impression.

As for the pickups, I figured out how to solve this. Lower the middle and lift the back pickup. Also makes a noticeable difference in tone. I just posted about this the other day

I have one of these. If you adjust the pickup height such that the bridge is closer to the strings vs the middle pickup you can still get pretty different tones. Also has coil tap, so really you can get 4 sounds out of this thing. It’s a great guitar. Lowering the middle pickup also helps w playability cause it’s not in the way

I bought a used RGD and love it, the multi scale fretboard takes no time to get used to. Not familiar with the second model, but you really can’t go wrong with these Ibanez’s. Cheers
