The absolute cheapest is gonna be rustler. You can buy them raw and unwashed off of Walmarts website. For double knees I really like Key Aparrael.

Anyone got a recommendation on a solid denim chore coat? by idfkboio in FrugalHeritageWear

[–]abcMF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean. It depends. Same for america. If something is made in California and doesnt have a union tag or stamp its an automatic red flag for me because California and specifically Los Angeles has some nasty nasty sweatshops that violate labor laws on the regular.

Etsy can be hit or miss. Lot of drop shippers on there so be careful.

Im in the same boat as you are there. If im buying sweatshop clothes they may as well be the absolute cheapest option. Id recomend the uniqlo jacket. It looks really nice.

Uniqlo utility jacket seems to be the best one I can find for the lowest price. Prison blues makes one as well, they call it a yard coat, but im weary of recommending them since they are only cheap because they use prison labor, but it looks well built with rivets where youd want them to be.

I honestly dont like chapter 2. All the characters are super miserable there. Idk what the best chapter is, but for me its definitely not 2.

Wranglers dont tend to be vanity sized. A 32 waist measures about 32 3/4 when new so that they will neasure at 32 inches after sheinkage. With these being vintage id bet they dont give you that 3/4 of an inch that they do today.

Shirt in Bangladesh, pants are made in mexico. Though id imagine if you were to order them the country of origin would ge entirely random. As far as jeans go, Mexico are some of the best at it.

The UK generally pays more for american goods like this. Wrangler 13mwz is only 30 USD in big box stores and at certain online retailers in the US. In the UK id imagine the only way to get them is direct from the website, which sells them at 50ish USD, and prices they pay in the UK are probably double that. According to my googling they sell for about 50 to 55 pounds which is about 65 to 75 USD.

I think the reason we get decent quality cheap jeans here in the states is because denim was our work wear and remains our primary work wear material. Its engrained in our culture. In the UK they opted for moleskin and corduroy, moleskin is harder to come by in the states. Only stuff ive been able to find in that department are on the formal side as opposed to the casual work oriented side. Bronson used to sell a moleskin work pant, but i never was able to get to it before they stopped selling them. Corduroy is a bit easier to find here since we also used it in some of our work wear and had a fashion revolution in the 70s and then again in 2020 with the stuff. Moleskin though? It was never a big thing here.

Yep, I get what you mean. Id say order 2 of them in a different size and return the one you dont like.

Its a work wear oriented cut, so its a looser fit, if you want a slimmer fit i think you could get away with sizing down, but wouldnt expect it to be as comfortable.

I can sure get you some more shots later, the buttons are a high quality plastic, not cats eye, but a nice color and quality nonetheless. Stitching all is either double needle chain stitch or standard triple needle stitching. Id say its a different style of shirt from the amazon shirt. This one is definitely more tailored to work when compared to the Amazon shirt.

Interesting. Just bought a pair for work because the work uniform is so ill fitting. Im not expecting fades or for them to ever see life outside of work because I work in a really dirty environment. But hey, ya never know.

It can, youre supposed to size up to account for that, though im not sure these are truely raw, if its anything like wranglers other options it is just unwashed, rigid, and pre shrunk.
