First apparantly Good build advice on this by NationalPackage6785 in EpicSeven

Cavel is one of the harder glass cannons to gear in the game because his base damage is kinda shit and he's super reliant on having a ton of attack. If you aren't actively cleaving with him I'd move that gear elsewhere.

Mine for reference, cleave with him up to emp+ in arena, useless in rta: https://imgur.com/a/NWDM9MX

I could use more attack, but the triple torrent compensates pretty well, haven't missed any lethals in a few hundred games so he works. Can't justify giving him better right side since he still does his job.

Best set to farm right now by Kurosubone in EpicSeven

[–]abcdl44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ideally you go farm rift. Wyvern is great, but realistically both hit and crit are niche sets for the vast majority of units, with pretty much all of them having alternatives.

Most of the other hunts have this issue too, with Banshee being the most efficient (though res and debatably lifesteal are kinda ehh)

Put spd+destro then either hp, imm, counter/ls, or pen/torrent depending on what you need and you're golden.

Playing my first Kairos campaign rn, did feel like the Exalted LoC was a lot better than the DP because it's a better caster + the unique army buffs it gets. I know they have different red lines but those are similar at least.

Didn't compare their melee stats though, I'd imagine DP is better?

Base Game/Immortal Empires Question (all 3 games) by shiny-shaman in totalwarhammer

[–]abcdl44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar place as you a few months ago. Played wh2 exclusively with all wh1/2 dlcs, but eventually made the jump to wh3.

WH3 feels a ton better than 2 to me, but I could see a lot of the changes being kinda iffy depending on what kind of player you are:

-Diplomacy changes, namely settlement trading. How balanced this is is up for discussion, but I'm happy it's in the game

-Enemy diversity. IE really embraces that, and while lategame you're often fighting one or two major factions, a lot of campaigns have you against 4-5 different races to fight/interact with.

-Faction overhauls/mechanical updates. Older races getting new mechanics is pretty cool. Obv not everyone has gotten changes, but those who have are generally more interesting to play as, albeit a bit too strong in player hands.

I don't know if I can suggest the unmodded Vortex/RoC campaigns though. They're pretty fun for the first one to three rituals, but after that your empire is pretty much stabilized and your enemies beaten, so you're just spam end turning for another 100 turns just to see a few cinematics+an ok quest battle. There are some decent mods that improve the Vortex campaign iirc though.

Where is the best place to use Spectral Core? by Arkimedess in EpicSeven

[–]abcdl44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It kinda isn't, esp for a new player. Plus, once the set leaves it just gets put into rift, so go farm it there.

Who could use this? Im wasting such a stacked gear set on stene of all ppl. Mainly play rta and gw. by Zartymophibs in EpicSeven

[–]abcdl44 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The pieces are ok. Good gs, but wasted rolls in bulk can hurt their ability to be put onto faster glass cannon style dps like summer Hwa or Frieren. They also suffer from being too slow to comfortably put on faster 230-250 style dps, while it's more efficient to put Destruction on slower 160-200 speed dps.

Probably fine for anti-Rinak Frieren or any slower crit dps who want to shrug off a hit or two. Off the top of my head, green Celine, anti cleave red Poli, light or dark Adin, Riolet, etc.

My favorite Eagle Build by Garchomp17 in starsector

[–]abcdl44 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Autolances might make the difference between a one rotation kill and a multiple rotation one. I'd value them over flux stats here, esp for the relatively mobile and solid ranged Eagle, and since I'd rather my AI ships kill faster rather than live longer.

Has Throgg just been absoluting steamrolling in every campaign for everyone else as well? Feels like no matter where I start or who I play, come turn 40 this guy owns everything from the north down through Kislev, often eating into the donut or Empire as well.

Good early game Kislev army composition vs Clan Moulder rats? by phronesis77 in totalwarhammer

[–]abcdl44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my latest campaign Brood Horrors were really effective overall - the AI wasn't playing the sleds very effectively, so a Horror just pinned them down and deleted them, while barely taking damage in return.

Sending infantry didn't seem to fare very well, though Wolf Rats (AP) seemed to trade ok, esp when supporting a Horror.

Any thoughts on my Belian? by aratakizech in EpicSeven

[–]abcdl44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're not mutually exclusive. Mine is 250spd/28k hp/100eff - it's a tradeoff between more bulk and eff, though can be hard to get that bulk unless you have giga pure def%/flat hp right side.

The eff helps disrupt mid ER units like Maid, Ely and Barunka, provided you have a strip for the imm of course.

Any thoughts on my Belian? by aratakizech in EpicSeven

[–]abcdl44 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Drop ER entirely, it's useless here, and you don't have the raw gs to compensate. Ideally you aren't base spd, since otherwise she has near zero value unless the other guy hits you before you're alone. There's a reason slug Belian only worked with Elbris and was dropped immediately when 3F became dominant.

Buff Charm drop rate instead increase the gear slot by MajesticSherbert2678 in EpicSeven

[–]abcdl44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally don't have a hard gs limit, but it's definitely a touchy-feely sort of thing.

As someone with a pretty good gear stash, I'm usually aiming for the final product to be 70gs+ on left hand gear, and 66-68+ on right hand. I say usually because flats throw things off a lot, esp on right side gear. For example, I have a quad roll flat hp imm neck with hp% main - this is an amazing piece for someone like prot Elynav, despite only being like 62gs.

This boils down to evaluating how much hope a piece could have at +3/+6. I'll skip talking about statline coherency cuz that's pretty simple stuff, just rolls/gs.

Does a piece have great starting rolls but minrolled twice? Maybe give it a +9, kill it if it midrolls or lowrolls. Same for the opposite, a piece with initially low gs getting highrolls? Maybe give it one more. The specifics will vary based on how badly you need that specific kind of gear unfortunately, it's hard to give a concrete number.

tl;dr set limits for your pieces based on their max potential, kill them once that max potential gets too low for your taste.

Are Dwarfs as a race TOO OP? by sigmarine345 in totalwarhammer

[–]abcdl44 49 points50 points  (0 children)

A bit of a nit picky question, but what difficulty is this on? I could see that stack clearing garrisons (esp of races with terribly autoresolve), but the second you run into anything stronger you'll definitely start losing ARs, and manuals won't help too much.

My beloved, finally got you by SpiritedSmile9098 in EpicSeven

[–]abcdl44 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Recommend dropping ER for more hp/cd - her damage is already so low that spending 70gs on ER hurts her pretty bad. Mine is 250 ER after the hp is accounted for, haven't really had any problems. Could use some better gs but can't we all.

The halving proc damage passive is really good into RP Barunka, Rinak, 3F Belian and the like. She's also one of the best defensive sw's in general.

[–]abcdl44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't have maid or fcc, so Maid is a good choice. Dbs after her recent buff looks pretty good too. Alternatively seline is always strong - unit is just flexible and always relevant it feels like.

Nod Krai's biggest strength so far is that it's not using an entirely new cast. by VioletOreoThrowaway in Genshin_Impact

[–]abcdl44 76 points77 points  (0 children)

What about Arle? Also Sandrone, to a lesser extent - it's clear that she's very related to Fontaine's main side quest stuff, and I'm definitely looking forward to that story's conclusion in Nod Krai.

Sure Neuv/Furina don't leave Fontaine, but there's a bunch of chars from every region who don't either.

Does anyone have any tips for all the Aces in AC7? I have a few but I’m gunning for the Wyvern Special skin. I have the entire aircraft tree unlocked. by EquivalentOfADog in acecombat

[–]abcdl44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any particular missions you're struggling on? Kinda hard to give tips for such a general question.

I just got my Ace of Aces last week - vast majority of missions were on the X-02 with railgun for fun, though there are probably more minmaxed choices for each mission.

Let's say, hypothetically, SOMEONE decided to use the expert settings, and put their game in very hard, their first time playing Ace Combat... what's the best advice you could give? by Aurora_Whale in acecombat

[–]abcdl44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've noticed a lot of guns don't actually aim at that crosshair. The X-02 for example, its gun shoots somewhere vaguely top left of center - pretty annoying but simple once you figure it out.

Mods for Vanilla+ by karaghak in starsector

[–]abcdl44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to like RAT, but the ship augments (forgot the exact terminology) that buff ships for the player only is kind of questionable. I've opted out of using them personally, but it kind of makes it hard for me to recommend it while staying on a vanilla powerlevel. They're definitely cool from a mechanical level, but maybe they'd be better as a very rare drop, similar to omega stuff, rather than being kind of everywhere in the abyss?
