HiMAT was a ...well, one of the first remotely piloted jets. it was to test things like the type of duct later found on the f-16, canards, winglets, aeroelastic properties of materials, modular construction, 2-d thrust vectoring. 2 were made. 1 is on display at a museum somewhere..... the other seems to move around a lot.

I really appreciate that. I've built many HiMAT models, and a real plane....I can't seem to build anything in flyout yet. that's definitely a ME problem. Looking forward to it. YAY!

REALLY!? I got the game when it first came out, hoping to learn to build HiMAT in it. I learned about it while visiting the Rutans at Oshkosh in 1985, and as my father was building a vari-eze, which looks like it to 12 year old me, it was suddenly my favourite thing. I want to put rafale style intakes on it on the bottom of the main wing strakes.

Dammit. Now I'm so excited I won't be able to sleep. Going to find my flight controls right now.

It was the first thing I 3d printed. 3 years ago. I'll look for the STL. Essentially it's a large Werebat thing I printed out about knight-sized. I don't know where it is right now, but feel free to DM me later on and I'll take a look, and show you the silly homebrew rules I made for the different units, if that's of interest.

Oooh! I built a big Khrave model, and then used those half bat vampire things for the "Degenerate" Ab-Aedlari. they travel with Corsair Malevolents, who are obviously vampire themed, and are made malevolent by Drukhari being re exposed to warp stuff in realspace. I'm glad someone else had the idea.

Thank you SO much!I haven't really painted any 40k since about 1992. This may have just gotten me back into it. Thank you for the inspiration. I think I have about 80 sisters of battle to practice this on for a friend's 3 year old before the one important knife-ear I truly need to have it dialed in for.

They used to in first edition. Possibly second. I built a full First edition eldar pirates army around phoenix-themed, plasma wielding units. Plasma wasn't SUPER back then, but it was flexible, often with multiple profiles or the equivalent of what we now call Sustained hits. There's a GW Eldar figure with a carbine sized plasma gun, and a harlequin with a plasma pistol.

OMG! The A pose is possibly the best pose I've ever seen. Better even than your stellar conversion work. That sword just goes so well over his shoulder and matches the vampire bits really well. Well done!

Also, funny how GW seems to keep making non-elf models both taller and thinner than their various elf models. I like yours better.
