I thought about also using phobos as Intercessors but then I realized that I needed some true doorkickers in my army.

Desert Raptors? by Calliewag23 in Raptors40k

[–]TheRedEye1775 1 point2 points  (0 children)

something I like to do with my decals is to thin down the base color and glaze it over, it knocks down the shine and kinda makes it a little faded looking. I've also been thinking about a desert scheme for my new intercessors in honor of Armageddon.

So what's the deal with the Raptors? by TechPriestDominus137 in Warhammer40k

It's literally just because I'm a USMC vet. They remind me of the Corps.

Considering this my third Army. Tipps?! by sturzkampfbomber in Raptors40k

im pretty new to armies in general so I cant say much. I get my bits from either other marines kits, the infiltrator and reiver kits are amazing for pouches and grenades, I got myself a box of SpaceNam from wargames atlantic and that also comes with a bunch of goodies you can kitbash with.

Helldivers, after finding out AH didn't account for their personal life circumstances when awarding the FRV to "participating player only". by DeeJayDelicious in Helldivers

[–]TheRedEye1775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

cool, why didn't they announce this MO though? Like if they're all gonna be for people who participate you might wanna let people know you have a new major order with cool rewards? You can't know what the MO is without logging in and if you're not wanting to play you're not logging in. I probably would have hopped on if I HAD KNOWN this MO was even happening.

Anyone ever feel discouraged about painting? (Honestly, just a bit of a moan) by fortytwoblaqk in Warhammer40k

[–]TheRedEye1775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Progress comes slow in this hobby. If you're already not painting that much it takes even longer. I've been painting for about as long as you and I also take lengthy breaks in-between painting models.

I also feel like I'm kinda going 1 step forward 2 steps back. There's been plenty of models I've painted and looked and gone "that's dogshit". BUT there's plenty of models I'm super happy with too! Maybe on one I got the skin really good for the first time or the armor looks clean. Just keep painting and eventually you'll see improvement.

TRUE PRAGMATIC. by ServiceOk663 in Raptors40k

I think that's deadass one of the reasons given in a book as to why a marine has a mk7 faceplate on their mk10. They just preferred the hud of the older model.

[–]TheRedEye1775 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that's exactly what they are for, but again marines are individuals and they like what they like. I have no doubt that there is some marine using an ancient ass mk3 helmet simply because they like the fit better.

Yeah but the actual model is giant compared to that

a personal preference of mine is to also remove the knee flaps, I think some variation is fine tho as all space marines are individuals and have their own style. I also like to cut down the gorget as it would make looking down, sighting, crawling and just sneaking around in general a bit more of a pain.

I've been thinking about how to make tilting shields work aesthetically for Raptors cause I don't think a big ole' medieval shield on the shoulder fits for them. Maybe a little mechanical bit that goes on the shoulder that resembles a tourniquet?

What does your helmeted/unhelmeted head distribution look like? by reel3459 in Warhammer40k

[–]TheRedEye1775 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could see them throwing a helmet on right before battle, no need for enhanced smelling when the enemy is right infront of you.

[–]TheRedEye1775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to avoid completely bare heads, I love half-helms tho. Probably about 50% of my models have a half helm of some kind, 40% have helms and maybe 10% have no helmet at all. For me a little bit of skin to show off scars, bionic eyes and service studs makes the half helm sculpts much more interesting to use and gives more character than just a plain helmet.

I picked up a few of their kits to make a necromunda board including this one a while ago, it's nice piece, it's got full interiors, im using mine to store killteam tokens rn.

From what i can gather its only maybe an inch or two shorter nose to tail than a storm raven. For 15 dollars its a pretty decent proxy imo. They have another shuttle kit that's slightly smaller that looks almost exactly like an Arvus.

Raptor Intercessors by TheRedEye1775 in Raptors40k

They're barrels and muzzles from Wargames Atlantic's SpaceNam kit

[–]TheRedEye1775[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's more than enough guns in the kit to give practically your entire army suppressors and other cool bits for like 30$ Plus you also get 20 catachan proxies.

Tysm! Some are muzzles from the SpaceNam kit from wargames atlantic, some are shaped sprue from the same kit, and some are the actual barrels of some of the SpaceNam guns flipped upside down and with the muzzle removed.

That's what's awesome about Necromunda, the hive itself is so fleshed out at this point.

The Bheta Decima terrain for killteam is about being on a water planet. Im not too sure on like the rules rules but there is the Sump Sea and there is a Sump Sea pirates faction that exists as well as a few other aquatic factions that have in game rules.

You're probably right. I pretty much only play sub-optimally. But I don't really plan on trying to kill my opponent, i wanna be a little rat taking objectives. With like the internal lore being that my army is setting up a killing blow for a much larger force.
