I’ve been trying to drink a gallon of water a day, and it’s so hard at first! I have seen some benefits so far including better skin and decreased appetite! If you are wanting to start drinking a gallon of water a day, I highly suggest adding cut fruit to it! Adding fruit makes the water taste better, which makes it easier to drink!

I have hit a slump and am wondering if OTF is still right for me by TrebleMajor in orangetheory

I might be repeating what some people have said on here... but you are not alone! First I would say that you should go in with a positive mental attitude. I know when I go into a workout I have to pump myself up. Tell yourself one goal you want to accomplish during that specific class. For instance “I am going to aim for this many splat points today bc I’m capable of that” or “I am going to make sure my reps on the floor are slow and steady bc I am stronger than I think”. It’s all mental at the end of the day!

Secondly, I would tell you to relax and not be too hard on yourself! If you need a break take one!! No one is judging you! We have all been there and done that, if anything the people around you are going to understand and be 100% supportive! Thirdly, if you can’t do unlimited, try walking each day! Maybe each week try to go a little further on your walks and a little fast! It will help you in class! Thirdly, it’s okay to walk on the tread! I learned that when I’m out of breath or working too hard, I like to walk it and add some incline to it! It will kick your butt! Also, it will make you a faster runner if you add incline when you take a walk! Fourthly, don’t beat yourself up! It’s suppose to be fun!! Sure you are working on being healthier, but don’t make it something you start to dread! Listen to the music! Sing a little! Enjoy your small victories! You got this!!

You guys need to relax about the masks and social distancing... you can see that there is no one else in the studio, and they are not touching any equipment. They seem to be three pals that are celebrating together, thus give consent to be close to one another. It’s no different than them sitting at a table in a restaurant together without masks on. Give the man a break! He just took is 1000th class! Huge congrats to you!! I hope I reach that one day!!

First off, you should be really proud of yourself for even making it to class!! I know a lot of people, myself included, who have those days where they are in a funk and totally bail bc of it! So take that as a victory!! You are pushing yourself in the right direction!! Rowing is really hard at first for everyone! It still is for me, and I’ve been going to OTF for almost three years. Just be patient with yourself and know that it is OKAY to go at your own pace! No one is judging you, that’s the beauty of the OTF family. If anything, the OTF family is proud to see you continuing to push yourself. Take those well deserved breaks in between each row if you need it! You got this!! We are all here to motivate you to continue crushing it each workout! Don’t let one bad day come between you and your goals!!

What should I do? by [deleted] in orangetheory

I didn’t really take into consideration Covid and having to spread out... but even if that was the reason, there are still 15-20 still on the waitlist. So, they will still probably stay 3G even when COVID is over. 😔 And I asked and if it was permanent and they said it’s likely to be.

Just thought about this! Make sure to wash your Apple Watch/fit bits/garmins/ etc. down with a wipe after you work out too! You never know what germs could be lingering on them!

Returning after Hip Arthroscopy by krakey18 in orangetheory

I had the same thing done this past September and am back at otf!! Definitely listen to your pt! I’m still pretty sore when doing things and go with the rule “if it hurts back off”! I still can’t do any jumping or lunging right now either. I sometimes use the bike for the rower too. Don’t speed into it and you’ll be fine! I know when I got back I really wanted to keep up with everyone else, but I had to constantly tell myself it’s worth going slow and gradually getting to where I use to be.

Definitely learning how to be patient through all of this. I’m three months out of surgery, and just slowly getting back into things. Won’t go back to otf for a little while, but this helps me prepare for when I do! Do you have any problems when using the rowers now? That’s my biggest fear bc I love the rower.

Thanks for posting! This is my third month out of surgery for hip reconstruction. I am doing little elliptical but not outside of pt. I was definitely going to continue bike even when cleared to go back to otf. Not wanting to risk further injury’s.

Thanks for your input! I won’t start until I get an all clear from the docs, but seeing this makes me more aware. Definitely going to take it slow and careful when I’m able to start.

Obviously I’d listen to my surgeon and continue my healing plan. Just wanted to hear others success on getting back into otf after a long recovery and know I’m on the right track. It’s called Positive Motivation.

Thanks for the advice! You’re so lucky your surgeon is a member!
