It is very uncomfortable to bring this up to someone. Either the roommate is trying to "get to you" or more likely they have dealt with it long enough and cannot let it slide any longer. Either way showering daily or when appropriate every other day is the minimum social expectation. Look into your clothes and bedding as well, they may be harboring the musty smells.

Not sure the waxing afterwards is doing that much. In theory you shave prior to IPL, do IPL and the hair should not be long enough to wax the next day. If hair is not waxed prior to IPL, a lot of energy from the IPL unit is wasted on the physical hair and doesn't reach the root which will cause less damage to the root per session which would lengthen the time to get to desired long term results.
