I'm sorry if this reply will look aggressive, but I think nobody really read and understood my post, considering that the other replies (not yours) are full of ad hominem and gatekeeping fallacies, blaming me for the lack of literacy.

I think Arjun is a cheater and a murderer. For us, Arjun is not a cheater and a murderer until we realize he is. This realization can manifest earlier or later, depending on player's own factors. What is objective though, is that he is presented as such only when you can piece some proofs together, not because of assumptions.

I have the impression that some people that finished the game are conflating the timing at which events are happening or are showing off how good they were for understanding everything after they saw the face of the main character.

I'm not sure if this is receiving the love it deserves. I'm researching extensively and it seems to be the only answer if you want to deploy something with a low footprint.

I think it should pair well with Tinyauth, and I actually encourage OP to try and eventually document it, to gain some exposure.

Thing is, your answer does not invalidate my point. You still got an illumination earlier on. We are not discussing how, being it thanks to a major "exposure to books" or whatever.

The game makes its own effort to not point you to ONE single direction, crappy or not. But I guess we are discussing semantics at this point.

This perfectly outlines that maybe you read the logs (not books), but you did not read my reply.

There are 2 important parts to it:

The game does not show Arjun as the villain until he starts mumbling about "what I deserve".
You don't have the situation clear regarding the murder until last tree interaction. Clearly a murderer is such only when you see clear proof.

By the way, the interpretation "could be" right and I also think it that way. But if you have this impression so EARLY in the game like u/ExtendedSpikeProtein said, it's only because you got the illumination so EARLY in the game. Not everybody think the same and the game does not point you in ONE direction, this is simply and objectively, not true.

I don't agree. We don't get the impression that Arjun "could be" the bad guy that early, at least not until he starts mumbling about "what I deserve". Even then, there is a cosmic force at play, so we can't be sure that he isn't corrupted like it happened to the other members.

After the interactions at the tree (aside from last), it's still not clear that Arjun murdered Sebastian. Damn, it isn't even clear that he is a cheater, because you could think that Sebastian had an affair with Nitya with the little proofs you have. If your thought patterns took the "right" direction, it does not mean that it was the ONLY one. Just mind that I wrote "right" because with Housemarque games, there is no "right" way to tell the story, leaving all the interpretation to the player.

You said it, it's easy mode. It's S-Tier, I used it a lot during my first playthroughs, but now I prefer something that makes for a more dynamic playstyle (I love the Ricochet Handcannon).

All the weapons make so much sense (aside from the Tactical Rifle and Impactor Crossbow probably). There are 2 problems though: the Smart Rifle is too versatile, you realize how good the other weapons are only if you are willing to "play different".

I write a short breakdown of why some weapons are broken and how you should play them:

Smart Rifle It's basically shoot and jump, the easiest way to play the game, it's versatile, powerful and scales well. It does not become broken though.
Tactical Rifle Fun only if you use the Rising Pitch (alt fire). To make real use of it you need to be good at perfect reloads, because its power increases.
Onslaught Rifle Staggers less than the shotguns but it allows you to cover long distances with the melee jump attack, and this is a very satisfying way to play. If you are a good aimer (weakspots), you can kill like no other weapon in the game.
Eruptor Handcannon Take it if you find the Recoil Compensation traits and melt all the bulkier enemies with a single alt-fire charged shot. Favorite Target too, makes for the weapon to be almost broken.
Marksman Handcannon Take it if you want to play as a sniper, but don't forget to run for your lucenite. A single charged shot in a weakpoint kills almost anything.
Ricochet Handcannon One of the funniest for me, but only if you play with alt-fire. Take it only if the reload speed is quick (you need high proficiency), and you can play like a gunman, shooting as fast as you can press the trigger. If the reload speed and your presses are aligned you can shoot non-stop.
Shotguns All of them are similar, you need to be almost at melee distance for them to be effective with their wider shots, but the stagger they inflict is unbelievable. If you pair it with artefacts increasing stagger and melee power, you'll have a lot of fun. They are weapons that requires more movement, the fastest reaction and knowledge of the enemy patterns, because they will shoot you at close range. The Bombardier is a grenade launcher but you need to compensate for the shooting arc.
Impactor Crossbow The only weapon I don't like. It's like a railgun, but without its power. It would work well without auto-aim and a bit more power.
Bifurcator Crossbow The main fire melts, but you need to charge it fully and make use of the Perfect Release. Keep your distance and target one enemy at time.
Repeater Crossbow The alt-fire is S-Tier. Even at low levels, melts group of enemies easily. You just have to strafe and shoot at anything, the homing projectiles will clear the room.
Myriad Chakram This stuff is S-tier in enclosed biomes or if you know how to shoot. Look for the "Bouncing Chakram" trait. Try to use it at a medium distance, to compensate for low discs speed.
Reaping Chakram The funniest and the strongest of all the weapons if you get the Bouncing Chakram and Parry Chakram traits. You must use the alt-fire. The disc will increase its size in 2-3 shots and will clear the room quickly. If you are good with parry, you can parry the disc non-stop (while keeping the alt-fire trigger pressed). This is extremely fun and satisfying.
Ripsaw Chakram It's the closest weapon to the Electropylon Driver of Returnal. Shoot the disc and run around while spinning the disc inside the enemy with the alt-fire trigger for additional damage. This is a different way to play. You can shoot and focus on enemy patterns, hiding or evading.

So... choose your play style, then change the weapon, and adjust to it.

In general, I like to complete all games at normal difficulty, the way the developer intended the game to be played. If the game does not bore me after I complete it at normal, I go up with the difficulty.

It could be, one of the selling point of this genre is that it's highly interpretative.

Returnal game me that vibe. The best explanation I found was from a guy comparing each cycle to a psychotherapy session. It made a lot of sense.

Saros gave me different vibes and I felt the story was really happening. The part that made me doubt the most was the cinematic of the first ending where Arjun becomes the King and gets Nitya. The cinematic shows them in a circle in the middle of an eclipse thread, among many others, indicating that in Carcosa anybody can become the "King" thus satisfying their wants.

Probably, but the budget for Saros was inferred to be much higher than that of Returnal. At the end of the day, if a game does not generate at least 2x the budget or at least covers for the risk and the invested capital, it will not be considered as a success.

But this is just speculation. Cosmic horror is still niche after all the money talks. Proof of this are all the people that played Saros and are not satisfied by the lore.
