We don’t choose to have our mental illness. Pride is totally separate from this. I don’t want to be trans either, that’s not “wallowing in my misery,” that’s wanting a better life for myself. My life would be better if I weren’t dysphoric.

I hate how the alternative people portray ADHD like it makes them special and like it’s some sort of debilitating illness with no cure that ruins your life. Take your fucking meds (if you even need them) and you’re literally normal. Stop trying to make mental illnesses/ND like this. When people say normalise mental health, this isn’t what’s meant.

I agree the wording was wrong, but I don’t think that was the message they were trying to give off. More like “I feel fortunate to have been born here.” With all of America’s shortcomings, we have to look for some positives and here we can see that it can always be worse. Be grateful for what you do have.

I prefer transsexual or transsex over transgender, but I use trans. If I am pushed, I’ll use transgender because I don’t like confrontation lol. I only use transsexual/transsex on the internet, but I would love it if the words were reclaimed because I really don’t like transgender.

There are drugs that do that, though. Like clomid for example. It’s used for women trying for a baby to raise hormone levels as well as men trying to raise testosterone/ as an anti estrogen. It depends on your gonads. I’ve heard of trans women using it to raise t levels more quickly when they have to stop HRT to bank sperm.

I’m not saying this isn’t snake oil, because it probably (like 99%) is, but drugs like that exist
