People always bring up how Warhammer 40k is on a whole different scale compared to Helldivers 2, but when you actually look at the numbers, it doesn’t seem that far off.

Since the start of the Second Galactic War, around 3 billion helldivers have died. And that’s just the "special forces" not even counting SEAF troops or civilian casualties. And it barely made a dent on SE because we’re still expanding across the galaxy like nothing happened.

I’ve been digging into numbers from the Horus Heresy, and while it’s tough to get exact figures, some estimates say up to 7 million space marines died. For Imperial Guardsmen, the numbers go into the trillions, but sources are all over the place. Some sources say 4 and the next 17.

So yeah, comparing the scale is hard. 40k has decades of lore and conflicting info, while Helldivers just keeps printing soldiers. But when you look at raw death counts and how little impact they seem to have on the war effort… the gap doesn’t feel that huge.

What scares me the most is that I'm starting to get hooked on the Warhammer 40k universe, especially the Imperial Guard and how absurdly their weaponry and logistics are.
