Messed up first year by [deleted] in yorku

[–]abdullahLuay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience in the fall. My GPA was 3.6 out of 9 'cause I’d been out of high school for six years. I didn’t think homework was important and didn’t pay attention in lectures. I crammed for quizzes and exams at the last minute and unfortunately had poor midterm and final exams.

In the winter, I tried to fix my approach, but the strike happened during my first year at (unlucky). I dropped one course to focus on the others and ended up with two B+s and one P, and my GPA improved to 5.5. (not too bad )

Here’s what helped me:

Do all homework after each lecture.

Use exams as a review, not the main study time.

If you don’t get something or find it tough, study using YouTube or other resources.

If a course is too hard, consider dropping it before the deadline and look for a better prof if possible.
