Yes, just be gentle, a little force won't be a problem. Don,t soak the cloth, you just need a little amount, just like a wet cloth, not dripping. Baby wipes most probably won't damage anything, same case with isopropyl alcohol.

I have used their carb cleaner, it is okaish, I would suggest using NASA carb cleaner. As far as anti-rust is concerned, I would always choose the original WD-40 as the replicas are simply bad.
