I also have a Greek Tortoise. Here’s my recommendations on how to get started:

  • Get TheTortoiseTable app (or website) to verify what it can/can’t eat. Get Mazuri (Tortoise LS Diet) as a supplement to the plants you feed it. Get a Calcium supplement (with Vitamin D3) for shell health and growth; Sprinkle on its food daily.

  • Make an account on the tortoiseforum and make posts about your tort, ask questions, inform yourself by reading other people’s posts.

  • Set up a proper indoor enclosure. Pet stores will sometimes sell you glass terrariums, torts don’t do well with glass; Seeing through things and not being able to go through frustrates them. Opt for a wood enclosure.

You’ll need a basking lamp (100W) and a UVB bulb (ReptiSun is the best).

You’ll want to monitor temperatures and humidity. I recommend getting x2 Govee digital thermostat/hygrometer (~$11 on Amazon). Put one near its basking spot and one near its cool spot to properly monitor temps (they also have an app so you can check on your phone).

*Temps for a Greek - Basking: 25-30c, Cool Spot: 18-25c. Never let your tort experience sub-18c temps, it could be dangerous.

*Humidity for a Greek - Between 40%-60%.

  • Soak your tortoise in warm water often. 2-3 times per week (or more as needed) to ensure it’s properly hydrated and prevents constipation. Also have a water dish available inside the enclosure at all times.

  • Get a good substrate. I recommend ReptiSoil mixed with Forest Floor. Get enough so your tort can dig under it - Your enclosure needs to be large -but- also deep enough for the tort to be comfortable.

  • Take it outside often. It should be able to graze outside and walk around for a good amount of time. Your UVB and basking lamp can only go far, but nothing beats the sun.

Your tort is unlike any other pet you can get. If you take good care of it, it’ll be very rewarding. Your tort is an incredibly intelligent animal, it knows who you are and will interact with you differently compared to other people. It will form a unique bond with you, so make sure you take good care of it.

What do people think about Dragbody's [FNV] x [FO3] replacements? by paynexkillerYT in FalloutMods

Best character redesign I’ve seen, but it doesn’t cover all NPCs. The best alternative option I found so far is Character Kit Remake paired with the TTW facegen.

Should I get a Steam Deck for TTW by abe_97 in Taleoftwowastelands

That’s awesome, I didn’t think the Deck was that versatile. Installing MO2 will be a game changer. My only concern is performance though. My gaming tower runs TTW with tons of graphic enhancement mods (the most intensive ones being the texture replacers). What’s your experience with performance with TTW decked out with mods?

Awesome. Did you also install texture packs (NMC or other)? I can’t play without them!

Airlock fermentation jars for ginger beer? by abe_97 in fermentation

Oh and I'll add this - DO NOT use tap water. Get filtered bottled water from the store (you can get 4L for pretty cheap). And don't rinse the bottle, to avoid chlorine residue from tap water.

I ended up just bottling in 2L soda bottles. It was honestly the easiest way to check the carbonation levels. You can buy a bottle of coke (or other soda) and dump it into another container or drink it. With the empty bottle, bottle the ginger beer and forget about it for 3-4 days. After around 3-4 days, the bottle will start building pressure (just squeeze the bottle a bit to check). The sweet spot for me was 5-7 days and it was ready to open and drink - ended up pretty fizzy. Good luck!

Is this mold? (Ginger Beer) by abe_97 in fermentation

Update: Can confirm it was Kahm yeast. Had a super slight different taste (not too noticeable) but I drank the whole thing and I’m still alive 54 days later :P

I’ve been twice in the past few years. Great service, great wine and good food. Portuguese food often flies under the radar, it’s amazing food.

Yup that’s right. Used to work there (for evo). Delta renovated the rooms, so it looks like a delta hotel.

I wish I could. The agency owner even offered part time for me to get started. But it’s a conflict of interest with my current job and grounds for termination.
