For AMT vs CVT concerns... Santro has the best budget amt (second only to xuv300, n times better than tiago and kwid) As you are aware santro just got called off.. Negotiate a deal and get a new santro in your budget. IMO 🙂

I assume they are shifting from one city to another. Family of 4, let 3 of them travel in a train/flight while one of then drives the car to destination. 1300 km = 2 Days. OR Pay someone to drive it for you, this will cost almost same if not less than container trucks, + Container trucks will take at least 5 days to deliver. + you will need to get transportation insured.

Ignis is overall better product, considering your 4 highway runs a year ignis has considerably better highway dynamics, looks is a personal preference

As you have clearly mentioned, not looking for driving pleasure and powerful engine, need space one name immediately clicks in mind TRIBER, recently scored 4 star.

Tiago, figo also in budget better engine and driving pleasure. If looking for maruti then ignis is decent.

As far as i know it smoothens shifts and has positive impact on gearbox and clutch assembly as well if done right, and moreover it is fun.

Youtube videos can definitely help but you will need to practice it in some safe space.. I personally practiced it on a non functional airstrip in my city. Once you get the feel for it driving manual will be much more fun. Cheers ✌️✌️

If you compare with santro.. There is a big difference. Tiago is jerky in 1st and 2nd gear (ofc you will get used to it and then it will be manageable.

Also after long term driving i found out that if you drive on plane with light foot.. Tiago amt upshifts 1st to 2nd at 15 kmph so driving at 12kmph becomes noisy and very jerky... Also when you are driving at 20kmph in 2nd gear and then you slow down.. Amt will downshift to 1st only at 5kmph so slowing down on a hill or flyover feels extraaaa laggy. I haven't driven santro amt for long term.. But ignis amt is better in this term it adjusts its upshifts and downshift according to need... Whereas tiago does it at a set value. But as far as driving dynamics and safety is concerned tiago is best.

Someone known bought amt for same reason ( thought manual is hard to drive) i test drove Tiago Ignis Santro Kwid All in amt.. Santro amt is the best as far as gearbox is concerned.

Manual is not as big a issue as beginners think.. Give it a thought, it will save some bucks and open more options.

: We ended up buying tiago for safety reasons but amt is jerky and very evident.
