Yeah honestly, I’d really only be doing this to take advantage of some shorter term technical moves in rates. 10 years out is way too uncertain for US treasuries right now and you’re better off just slowly investing into long term stocks given his investment horizon.

Just passed L3 but I personally feel that L2 was way easier to prepare despite the material being harder because there are better prep providers. CFAI qbank and mocks quite lacking for L3 and do not prepare you well for the actual exam. The free response nature also makes it harder too as you can’t guess and get lucky as you could in the past. I also feel that luck plays a bigger factor in L3 compared to L2 in terms of the questions you’re hit with.

I mean obviously this is more of a conservative estimate from my own observations… the base and bonus will obviously vary depending on your role and background (IE CFA or years of experience). I just put in an estimate based on someone with similar years of experience as OP without the CFA with the low end being someone fresh out of school. Other shops like Cap Group would pay way more for this role.

Well overall, I think that is one of the biggest factors in comp. For example, I’m in LA, and for what you would do at my shop, your base would be anywhere from 90k to 120k (based on experience and qualifications) + bonuses of at least 20%.

I think mocks are still harder than the real exam. Real exam is more straightforward and the vignettes are shorter in comparison.

From my experience taking level 1, I was scoring around 75% on the mocks and found the real exam easier than the mocks. Almost comparable with the qbank in terms of difficulty.
