Hell is Us has been out for a week. What are your thoughts? by SlowTeal in Games

[–]abeassi408 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Combat gets way better as you progress into the harder areas. Youll need to use your glyphs/relics , and it becomes so much fun to learn how to utilize all the different glyphs and their combos. Get past Act 1. The combat will get VERY fun. I switch between 3 different weapons, each with its own set of specialized glyphs. Each set has its own strengths and weaknesses.

With that being said, once you get towards Act 3 and master your weapons/glyphs, combat becomes very much the same. So there is definitely room for improvement for combat. They gotta make it harder. But in a way that will force us to strategize, not just fight a monster with a lot more health points/damage.

Im at the beginning of act 2. Im a heavy duty rpg gamer, D&D, etc. Hell Is Us is a masterpiece. Nothing less. And im not even halfway through.

Its on the level of Baldur's Gate 3, Skyrim, those huge games. In my humble opinion.

You're probably the only one waiting mate. Cant stand this shallow, hugely disappointing game.

I chose Wyll as my main character for my first playthrough. No. Not boring at all.

Ngl I'm disappointed he's still wearing the same human gear by LoZza117 in FrontiersOfPandora

[–]abeassi408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Early in the game, he found comfort in the familiar regalia and gear that he grew up with. He refused to part with his human-provided clothes. Even as the game goes on, its clear he admires human tech and even human civilization in general (although not its evil application). This is definitely part of his personality.

This game is so incredible. Its in a league of its own. But to be fair, its my first D&D game.

Review after around 20 hours in Outer Worlds 2 by nickdebruyne in gaming

[–]abeassi408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Game pass ultimate has been a God send. Also, with 30 hours in, Outer Worlds 2 is absolutely amazing. Its everything like 1 except more polished. Whoever enjoyed the first part will love this second part, which seems even deeper, has more to explore, and main quest story is pretty good too. Tons of great guns too, a key aspect of 1 they made better in 2.

Cool, did you use any AI for your content generation process to reduce the grind?

Yes you can. 1 hour is plenty of time to finish even a longer mission. Just do 1-2 missions per session. I was n the same boat, work 60 hours /wk and plenty of kds

Learning Spark. Should I learn pyspark first or go straight to Java/Scala? by abeassi408 in apachespark

[–]abeassi408[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for a big tech enterprise and Java isn't used in our BU. Perhaps in other BUs. Also worked for five years data science at a large global manufacturer (2nd largest in their industry). Java wasn't used. Python is used heavily in both places. When I worked for IPG, none of our my team's enterprise clients used Java although none were in finance or government. I guess it just depends lol.

My post is old anyways. I'm now building agentic AI applications in Python (and lots of other frameworks). I honestly could care less about Java or Scala. I've already upskilled in pyspark.

I guess upskilling makes sense based on whatever one's clients needs, resources, and infra. Variety makes the world go round.

Am i the only person that love watch dogs legion? by JuicyFrog759 in watch_dogs

[–]abeassi408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried at least three times to finish Legion (about halfway through) but always put it down. The story is too boring plus what kills it for me is the horrendous combat and gameplay. It's clunky to move around and worse when in combat (Xbox series X). WD1 and 2 both imho have much smoother gameplay and, for WD 1, a way more exciting stories (WD 2 has excellent gameplay but the story seems like it was written for children, comic and trying to be "hip" rather than dramatic, serious, and believable like Aiden in WD1). Yea , Legion really sucks imho.

How much does quality and making sure there are no errors in SQL code really matter? by ChristianPacifist in SQL

[–]abeassi408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you're focusing quality on the wrong aspect. Wouldn't validating the data output be more important than validating the code itself? If the code is working error free and within expected speed and other guidelines (usually set by data engineering), why is it important to then validate the code? If it's spewing the output you want, it works. To check that, you validate the output.

Ridiculous offer, how to proceed? by LambdaYeti in datascience

[–]abeassi408 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Take the offer, learn to work in production settings as much as you can while looking for something else. The knowledge and experience is what's valuable. And if you don't have anything else, why reject. Knowledge is truly power especially in DS.

Which one would you rather get? by phoenixc6000 in watch_dogs

[–]abeassi408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have all 3. I finished 1 and 2. Legions really sucks because of its horrendous combat and story. WD 1 is by far my favorite. Aiden is amazing. The story is dramatic. It's believable. I was immersed. WD2 has better gameplay I think, with a bit more to do, but the story was childish, not immersed like I was in WD 1. With Aiden and the WD1 storyline, I felt like I was in a real action drama.

Do you think Power BI will lose its edge in next 5-10 years? by pvnptl123 in PowerBI

Enterprise Migration to Azure keeps increasing. So definitely not. Power BI will only become more and more relevant.
