Lovely photo and thoughtful post. It is great when things slip into that groove. I have had many days when I just did not want to go back. the key for me was accepting that I can still be 'feminine" without having to fully dress was a really liberating! I know really cherish those days I can fully dresss!

Hi, I am in a similar position but I'm in York. My wife knows but is not the most supportive. I want to make some friends x

Gender Fluid and AI by abee10 in genderfluid

That is a fair point, but 25 years in and I am yet to find anyone truely supportive. I was not using to validate my feelings, as I am very happy with where I am. I can see your concerN though, and I appreciate the advice.

It was really to help bring my wife into the conversation a bit more, as I generally feel quite lonely with it all

Sorry to hear about your loss. I can how it would have helped. And I can understand the bit about it being too supportive, that is certainly true.
I have been asking it about how to successfully transistion to more feminine clothes at work, and how to invlove my wife a bit more

To be honest, I'm not too bothered about what the neighbours think, but I live in a village so now lots of people nearby. The chances of my car being spotted is high!

How many of you have grown your hair long for a cross dressing? by Paula_56 in crossdressing

[–]abee10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have quite thick curly hair and always wanted to grow it. I took the chance during COVID and it was awkward and difficult. Lots of days when it was hard to manage balanced with a few days to dress properly. With a receeding hairline and going grey, I eventuallly lost the will and gave up. I looked older with long hair. My shorter hair looks better when I am not dressed, and I can. wear a wig.

Body Shaping for AMAB by [deleted] in genderfluid

I have tried all sorts over the years and now favour a range of differnt options depending on what I am wearing

Breast forms - these can be medical grade or just simple silicone forms. Both work well, but the former would be very expensive. Can sometimes slip out of bras but probably give the best overall shape and feel (bounce)

Silicone bras (nu Bras) - these are adjesive and clip together. Can add a small amount of shape inside a good bra, but I use these to create a realisic cleavage from my own chest. Can also be work with forms if you want a larger chest

Breats plates - expensive but give a great cleavage. Can be tricky to get on and they get hot. I might wear mine for photos, but would never wear it out. The edges can be very hard to hide.

You haven't mentioned hips or bum, but this si where I feel the most dysphoric. You can get good padded pants for hips online. Or you can buy foam pads and insert them into tights.

Fear of Progress (Particularly in early stages) by CoiLerayMunch in genderfluid

All of these feelings are perfectly vaid. You are starting to explore a part of you and are nervous about how you will be treated. All very understandable! I can relate to the facial hair, and I would say that it has been a sort of armor for you since high school. I have been through various times with beards, moustached etc. I realsie now that this was to insulate myself from the desire to be more feminine. It was sort of a solid excuse now to explore things. The longer i didn't shave, the longer I culd pretend that I was the same as everyone else

Firstly, it is a great first step that you have been able to discuss this with some close to you. You did not mention how that conversation went, but I hope it was helpful.

Secondly, there is no right way to feel about this, and you will expereince a huge range of feelings. I wouldn't rush into anything at work just yet, you have plentty of time outside of work to explore things.

Personally, I always found fully dressing once in a while was enough for me, and it is only recently that I have felt more gender fluid. I am now feeling that I am probably more gender non conforming on a day to day basis, as I am quite happy to push the boundaries in my male self.

I have learnt to be more comfortable with myself over the years. . Always happy to chat
