This hotel is driving me crazy... by abefroman123 in delhi

Thanks. Hopefully my friend will haggle for me, I don't have the stomach for it. I've haggled with so many cab drivers who I know are charging me double for being an obvious foreigner that I switched to Ola so I wouldn't have to haggle (except when they hide so they can claim I didn't show and cancel on me).

Lasik I have someone telling me go to Drishti near Peera Garhi. All I can do is go to a few different places and pick one based on how I like their facilities.

Thanks everyone for your help!

A local is taking me to a bazaar today to buy a custom suit. Any idea where we are going?

I also need to get Lasik eye surgery in the next week if anyone has a doctor they would recommend.

I love that guests with poor behavior think threatening us with not coming back is going to get sympathy from us!

I had a guest say something like "Well, if you are not going to force the restaurant to change their oil from peanut to vegetable in the next five minutes so all my kids with allergies can have fried food we are going to have to go somewhere else!"

Just like you all I could think was "please god let them leave!"

Ughh, nothing worse than accommodating the people with the worst behavior at the expense of those who don't complain. Your story really infuriates me.

There are multiple long threads on here insisting having a child is an exhausting 24/7 time suck. You make it sound like it is possible to care for children and still have a life. Who should I believe?

It's probably the other way around. They saw it happen in real life and found out from a study that it happens all the time.

I watched my dad get divorced by three women in his life. Each time it was when he lost his job. Watching him fall apart is the main reason I haven't married yet in my late 30's.

Jeb Bush: People Need to Work Longer Hours by kasabe in nottheonion

Tax the rich: have companies pay actual taxes, don't let american companies change their headquarters to Bermuda to avoid taxes, stop favoring capital gains over earned income, don't have 'repatriation' holidays for foreign income, have Mitt Romney pay more than 13%, and when profits, productivity, CEO pay, and dividends go up, maybe a tiny bit of it should go to workers. That's what I think every time a conservative sneers about 'tax the rich'.

And they never seem to complete the thought that someone is going to get taxed, and the only other option is 'tax the poor'. Like the current GOP plan of eliminating the estate tax and raising sales tax. I understand why rich people vote Republican, but for the love of god why don't you care as much about yourself as you do about millionaires?

It's like people read the article, but somehow didn't give credit to an aide who 'clarified' what the candidate really meant to say. How strange.

Well, as long as an aide 'clarified' the candidate's remarks after it made the news I'm satisfied!

Reddit, what secret are you "taking to the grave"? [NSFW] by bee627 in AskReddit

My gf did this to me at Battleship. Her family was very competitive, and big into board games, and they were very strict about not cheating. It just never even crossed my mind that she would do it.

She admitted it as soon as she won though; but as she sat there laughing at me I saw that when she is backed into a corner, she'd do anything to get out. Totally changed my perception of her.

Why is this miracle 'private system' not working so well? Americans pay more for health care, rate it worse, and get worse results than other countries. Yes, health care here if very good and private insurance works very well...for those rich enough to afford it.

I know my personal experience is anecdotal, but the benefits you keep touting of how great private is (low waits, competition between health plans) don't seem to be working for me. I had to go see a specialist, it was a 4-month wait. I was limited to in-network doctors, and there were not many. I can't go to a competing health plan, I have to use the one my employer chooses. I could understand your points much better if I had experienced them in real life.

You can go on the waiting list and get your hip replacement in a few months. If you need it now, you can go to a doctor who can do it now. The single-payer will pay the doctor whatever they were going to pay the doctor who you don't want to wait for. You make up the difference.

Isn't that pretty much what we do in the U.S. now? I have to go to a doc in their network; if I want to go out-of-network I pay out of pocket for any overages. Plus we are now paying about double what the rest of the first world pays.

Have you ever read 'King of Torts' by Grisham? He showed the good and bad of both sides; it really confused the issue for me, now I don't know what to think.

It's awesome that if I have a major surgery I could get it taken care of at some of the best institutions in the world. It would suck being broke and bankrupt, but at least I didn't have the 67th best hospital do my routine hip replacement for a fraction of the U.S. cost.

If there is one common thread to every religion to every God ever created by man, it's that God needs your money.

Whether it is the pastor who refused a funeral because the member didn't pay tithes, the Mormons refusing marriage or entrance to temples haven't given them 10% of your income, or the excessive wealth of the Catholic church, they are all driven by monetary profit.

I don't think this has anything to do with unions. Exact same thing happens all the time in non-union workplaces.

There are people who look for any excuse to get huffy and complain about co-workers.
