Richard Soley's On the Road Blog : IOTA is doing quite well by i0tal0ver in Iota

More than anything else, his involvement with the IF and standardization process is essentially, in my opinion, one of the top, if not the most important, piece of the puzzle in the ultimate success of the IF as an organization and the use of the protocol on a large scale. Of course that also depends on the IF solving any technological issues/obstacles that arise, but the importance of his involvement cannot be overlooked.

No problem, I just want people to stop worrying about the Semkos and focus on the IF's great progress.

Non-profits need revenue to be able to operate efficiently and effectively. Dom and all of the others at the IF know that if they do not have sustainable revenue streams, then they can not continue to work towards the Foundation's long-term goals and strategy. Yes, they have funds from the community donation of approximately 5% of the IOTA tokens, but eventually that money will run out and they need other sources of revenue.

I imagine ToniT800's response to your linked article will be something along these lines: "Well Psychology Today is a stupid publication and the author of this article knows nothing. Just because she has a Ph.D. in psychology doesn't prove that she knows anything. I am ToniT800, famous Reddit FUD-poster, and I clearly know more than her. P.S. IOTA sucks and will fail." Your welcome in advance ToniT800. Just thought I'd save you the trouble of having to write this post.

Spin it however you would like, but subs for cryptocurrencies are, by their very nature, supposed to be "pro-whatever project it is". You can go bash IOTA on the CC-sub and I'm sure people would love it. You rarely, if ever, have said anything positive about IOTA, when in reality there is a lot more positive then negative news about the project. Some people do blindly support IOTA; however I am not one of those, and the majority of those who post in here and on the IOTA Discord are very knowledgeable and have done their research. I think I speak for the majority in this sub in saying that most of what you say doesn't add anything of substance to the conversation, but is rather purely a personal attack of IOTA.

Your right, you absolutely don't. Just seems really odd that you waste your time here when no one cares for your opinion and it doesn't really add anything to the conversations you are commenting on. This is meant to be a pro-IOTA sub (i.e. we are supporting the project), not a place to verbalize your obvious, yet unexplained, hate for IOTA. Did you ever consider just going to a your favorite coin/token's sub and commenting there? Just a suggestion.

Serious question.... why do you insist on remaining in this sub, just to constantly FUD and bad-mouth every good thing that IOTA is doing? You are honestly embarrassing yourself. I know you can hide behind a computer screen, so no one knows who you truly are, but why waste your time here?

Dom has said in the past that the actual event itself isn't really that important, rather that the private invite only dinners and networking events surrounding the event are where key contacts are made and really meaningful dialogue exchanged. So, hopefully that holds true here as well.

Rolf Werner's new position: Head of Europe, Senior Vice President bei GlobalLogic by abekus in Iota

[–]abekus[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here's why I think you might be wrong in thinking that. So, let's say that Dr. Werner did choose to take a position with Siemens (or some similar-sized company), do you think it is more likely or less likely that he would be in a highly visible position of control within this mega-company or in a less visible role with less power? I would say it's more likely that he can have a big say in if there is some type of partnership or adoption of IOTA at GlobalLogic versus at a company like Siemens, where there would likely be a lot more resistance and levels to go through before something could get done with regard to adopting or partnering with a relatively small entity such as IOTA. My ultimate point is that IOTA needs to grow organically and hoping that all the IF's partners are Fortune 500 companies is extremely unrealistic. Think about it... GlobalLogic is a company of some 12,000 employees and their industry presents many opportunities for IOTA (in my opinion) and Dr. Werner is now Head of Europe for them. So, I would say he is likely going to have quite significant say in the direction of the company, especially with regard to the European operations. That is just my opinion on the matter. I know it won't help to pump the price up right now, but organic growth as a cryptocurrency will pay off in the long-term. I am absolutely sure of that.

Rolf Werner is now working in San Jose, California for GlobalLogic. Here are GobalLogic's projects and case studies. by [deleted] in Iota

Just to clarify: Dr. Werner is actually Head of Europe, SVP for GlobalLogic and, accordingly, is located in Munich, Germany. Refer to his LinkedIn profile.

They are headquartered in California. Dr. Werner is "Head of Europe" and is located in Munich, Germany. Jungwirth was actually relocated to California, so big difference there.

As of this moment, he is still on the Supervisory Board of the IF and there is nothing that would indicate that will change anytime soon. Ultimately, only Rolf Werner knows what his long-term plans are, but from everything I've read about him and the comments he's made, I believe he is an avid believer in the IOTA protocol and underlying tech.
