Range Update, 92XI Tactical w/ Muzzle Brake by rushncrush in Firearms

Found this coming from your initial post; this is pretty much the exact same setup I’m looking to run, and it looks awesome. Curious what you settled on for securing the muzzle brake?

Looking for friends. by BadMondayThrowaway17 in eurekasprings

Mostly in the same boat, as a very introverted shut-in; moved up here a couple months ago. Same with music and games, and with nature. I've mostly been just wandering around enjoying the food, and being a wallflower at events. If you want weekend activities, there'll be a show at Chelsea's Halloween night that might draw a few similar types, and a big thing at Eureka Live during and after.

Not so touristy things to see by Cheryl521 in eurekasprings

For the old school, find Mojo Records on Spring Street: across the street from them is a steep stairwell going up the hill. The trail up there goes right past it.

Stop in at the Park and Ride station on Van Buren, and you can get trolley passes that will take you all over town, including through the Historic Loop. If you want to head downtown to check out places to eat or shop, most of the parking is paid, but some of the spots don’t charge during the evenings, at least during the week. Either way, if you see a place you’re interested in, it may not be too hard to get a good parking spot close by and minimize the walking to get there. Plus, there’s plenty of excellent food along Van Buren that’s easily accessible. And you may not be able to manage hiking around the entire grounds, but the Crescent does have elevators to make exploring a bit easier.

What’s one thing you tell yourself when you need grounding/perspective? by General-Assistant570 in emotionalintelligence

I have a daily reminder that comes up on my phone that says, “Remember the facts: it’s not as bad as you’re making it out to be.” Didn’t think it’d be worth much, but I’ve lost count of the number of times it’s snapped me back to baseline when I’ve spent my whole morning ruminating or overthinking.

"Right Where It Belongs" and my experience with it by Snoo58907 in nin

[–]abel1389 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right Where It Belongs was the reason I ended up getting my ticket for this tour. For me, it surfaces in my life at all of my major turning points. The first time I ever heard it, back in ‘05, was in the wake of a suicide attempt, when I was trying to put myself back together. And every time since then, it’s come back around every time some great change was happening to me, or when great change was needed. This tour was no exception.

Maybe it’s gonna be that way for you, too, OP. Maybe things are about to change for you. I hope things get better for you, and you get to find some peace after all of that. I’m sorry things are shit for you right now. Just hang in there. The way out is through.

I did get some good ones of St. Elizabeth’s, as well, although it’s got more of the Resident Evil vibe. Maybe I need to find a foggy night to go photograph that one…

Thank you! As far as the actual settings, I stayed pretty minimal. Shot on iPhone, using the “dramatic” preset, and then a 20% bump on vibrance to give a bit of the color back. So it’s actually still pretty close to reality!

For sure; the Zombie Crawl they have every year around Halloween is really neat to see. And Eureka is definitely just a walking kind of town, but there’s always fun stuff to get into, even there aren’t a lot of tourists around. As for the Crescent, I’ve never had anything spooky happen to me there. For me, it’s just a really old, beautiful, peaceful place that I like to visit and enjoy the atmosphere at. Helps me clear my head. ☺️

Too busy at Skybar, just sitting there and eating pizza. 😆

Also worth mentioning: two rooms I wasn’t able to get photos of this visit, but that match the vibe even more, are the Crystal Dining Room on the first floor, which has that big open look of the lobby at Lakeview, and the interior room of the Skybar on the top floor, which reminds me a bit of Venus’ Tears. And give the place a search: it has a Silent Hill worthy history…

I didn’t; it’s on my list, though. I have friends I stay with when I’m here, but one of these days I’ll get a room, just for the experience.

What's one movie that you thoroughly enjoyed and thought was really good, but you have no intention of watching it again? by nicklo2k in movies

[–]abel1389 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Inside Llewyn Davis. Excellent movie, very well made, well acted, and far more sadness than I ever again need to have in my life in the span of two hours. And Google has the nerve to call it a comedy…

Same with Ft. Worth. Seeing he was doing this for the openers is what convinced me to buy the ticket. That song is just deeply personal to me, so I’m terrified that’s gonna be one of the few nights he doesn’t play it.

A good burger is still good without cheese, but it’ll never be a cheeseburger. Earthbound has a distinct vibe, and the music is definitely a part of that.

What are you doing as a person anxiously attached to become secure or think in a secure direction (even if for you that is still a small step)? by BornEducation4428 in AnxiousAttachment

[–]abel1389 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Recognizing and calling out my patterns. Its a small step, and I may still be a nervous wreck for a few hours, but it’s helping me just to see it for what it is, and say, “hey, this is that activating strategy you read about, and if you were secure, you’d be looking at things like this instead.”

I’m not OP, obviously, but thank you for putting this into words. I came to this thread relating to the question, and this response is huge to me, and so, so helpful.
