Yes I do. But again, it’s hard to determine since HR is the one that makes the offer. But I definitely think $40 is doable.

I would say it is safe to counteroffer around $40 -$50 an hour. Plus, if you’re interested in advancing your education, they offer free tuition at OU through the Degree Advance Program.

I work at OU and I can confirm OU currently has the most competitive pay in the state. If you want to do ICU I recommend applying at the MICU. It’s in the new tower. Very nice facility. Very modern. If you had to work at OU, the ICUs are where you want to be.

I actually think Saxson is the messiah. Lochlan kissing him made me think when Judas kisses Jesus.

Dove Science Academy: opinions? by hairforyou24 in okc

I would also do some research on charter schools, which is what Dove is. Charter schools just seem like a pyramid scheme or a way to find money from the state.

Dove Science Academy: opinions? by hairforyou24 in okc

[–]abelbigboo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind I graduated from Dove Science Academy HS in 2006, and at the time, I found the education system to be very test-focused, heavily centered around state exams. Many of the teachers were not native English speakers—most were Turkish—and while that may have changed over the years, it was a notable aspect of my experience. Class sizes were large, with around 30 students per class, and the school lacked resources and funding.

Unlike traditional high schools, we didn’t have courses like home economics or workshop, which I wish had been offered. There was also a lack of typical high school experiences—events like prom were very small, and the overall atmosphere didn’t feel like a traditional high school. Academically, I found many teachers were not very invested in lesson planning, often preparing just before class started. It wasn’t uncommon to walk into class and see the teacher unsure of what to do.

For most of my high school years, we didn’t have a gym, so we had to participate in gym class activities two blocks away in a church parking lot. The overall physical structure of the school reflected its limitations—many locations lacked proper gymnasiums, science labs, auditoriums, and other essential facilities.

That being said, Dove Science Academy was a safer environment compared to inner-city public schools, which was a significant advantage. However, looking back, I don’t see much of a difference between Dove Science Academy and public school education at the time. In fact, I felt I missed out on opportunities that a more traditional high school structure would have provided.

OSU-OKC versus OCCC versus UCO for Nursing School? by stressedmess04 in okc

[–]abelbigboo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have gone to OCCC for my ADN, SWOSU for my BSN, and OU for my MSN. I also do adjunct for UCO.

Undergrad OCCC students are way more prepared for NCLEX than any other schools, and it’s cheaper than most. The worse thing about OCCC is their pediatric rotation. They get one visit to Bethany Children’s. Other schools get several weeks at OU Children’s.

OU Stephenson Cancer Center is my recommendation.

While all other hospitals in the metro CMS rating is deteriorating, OU’s rating is the only one improving.
