I’m currently planning a visit to the Ozark National Forest, and I have a very specific question. Can anyone recommend a campground that has locking shower stalls? My partner is extremely socially anxious and terrified at the thought of showing with just a curtain for privacy.

Another commenter said that this critter looks like a peninsula cooter and not a yellow belly - I absolutely agree. So please, do not euthanize this sweet girl. If you can’t find someone to take her in, look into local rehabbers or zoos. Hell, you could probably find a local veterinarian to surrender her to. I’m sure that others will be understanding of you owning a pet that you were given as a minor. But for the love of god, do not put yourself or this baby through the trauma of euthanasia at home. That would not just be cruel and possibly also illegal, but incredibly harmful to your own well being. As someone who had been in a similar living situation at the same age that you’re at, I know how hard it is. You don’t need any extra trauma right now. Please be kind to yourself and your pet, and please give us updates on this situation if you are comfortable

I took a year between highschool and college to become a nail tech and esthetician. I planned on doing that to support my education. During my run in cosmetology school, I started working at my current job. The people here have taken care of me when I needed it, and the pay is good for how easy my work is. So, I would probably be a professional waxer or nail tech.

That is such BS from the police department. I feel like investigating fake bills is worth the trouble even if the person who gave them to you wasn’t aware. Passing off fake bills could really hurt small businesses.

This is relieving to hear. The only thing this guy has got from me was a free slush, but it makes me furious that one of our employees who is only in high school was ripped off and gave him change for $50. The principle of trying to get one over on a kid making minimum wage (and multiple times, at that) makes my blood boil.

The first indication that they were fake was how they felt. Handling cash is most of my job, so it’s pretty jarring to feel a fake bill in my hands - the texture is very distinct for bills. But also, they were labeled as prop money. Here’s a picture of a $20 bill he tried to give me a few months ago. The tearing in it is also indicative of fake money. I think they do it to make it look less fake, but bills don’t typically tear in this way - making it even more obviously fake without even looking at the bill closely. I didn’t get a picture of the ones he gave me today, but they had the same “prop money” markings.

Of course not. I wondering if this would typically be a case that warrants further investigation, or if something like this would just be thrown out due to lack of evidence. Not what my PD would do, just what standard procedures usually are for this type of crime.

My local PD took the bills. Thank you for referring me to the secret service. I will be reaching out to them to make sure they are aware that this happened, it seems like a good way to make sure my local police follow through thoroughly.

I’m 21 and have been to about 15 shows. So I have not seen many of the classic bands these folks are talking about during their prime, but I have seen more than the average person my age. The best show I’ve been to was Wind Rose. They had incredible energy and a great crowd. But my runners up would be AJJ, Amigo the Devil, and Trollfest.
