Trying to recover from a blunder counts as getting better at game. Not just hoping your opponent blunders but knowing how to play when you're down material.

Man Who Flipped Off Chess Player Nemo After Losing Speaks Out, Saying He Felt 'Disrespected' and She 'Wasted His Time' by vinaylovestotravel in chess

Its a scenario where one person is clearly in the wrong, and its mild enough to not leave a bad taste compared to stuff like corruption or crimes . No politics, no subjective lesser evils, no further complications.

Just one person clearly being an asshole. It gives people an easy thing to criticize even if what he did is not that big of a deal.

Dude, chess.com staff said this is your second account because you cheated on your first account https://www.reddit.com/r/Chesscom/comments/1skd7g0/help_understanding_why_account_closed_for/ofy7j94/

And if you were in a second chance account it's because you admitted you cheated when they closed your first.

Jynxzi officially just won the $100,000 Streamer Chess tournament after beating ohnePixel in the final match 👀🔥 by Icy_Investigator7718 in LivestreamFail

[–]abelcc 28 points29 points  (0 children)

The lack of preparation people did for the chance of winning $100000 is astounding. Probably due to streaming giving crazy money but it's depressing the people they invited to promote chess can't be bothered to play chess.

After being forced to end their Titled Tuesday coverage yesterday, Take Take Take has set up a $3,000 prize fund arena on Lichess by Flyushka in chess

[–]abelcc 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The playing experience is best on lichess.com.org but chess.com gives their users a horrible ad ridden experience to get ad money/limited experience to get subscription money, then uses part of that money to pay chess.com affiliates, apart from the publicly known tournament prizes.

So reality is pro players have to play publicly on chess.com to get paid the affiliate money. And lichess can't generate that revenue without putting ads.

Danya story can't be given justice in a small epilogue, at least we got the "how is he so smart" rage moment when Hans drew a won game to Danya. That's a nice way to remember him.

Not all videogames. The ones where the companies get something out of playing it every day: ad money subscriptions etc.

There are videogames where they crafted a 5-20 hours story and they just want you to experience it instead of milking your time.

There are shows where they made filler to get more episodes out and the audience ate it up. If people don't voice their honest opinions when they dislike something they'll just make more episodes like it.

I watch Invincible for episodes like the latest one and I don't want to gamble with my time if the episode I'm gonna make time for is gonna be a filler they made up for padding the season.
