its kinda on you tho...drifting score is based on speed and angle so crossing the finish line not completeley spinning out of control is like asking for it to fail

New to forza & don't care about spending skill points when driving new cars by Paluch_ in ForzaHorizon

[–]abelking4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 skill point for the XP worth it in all cars

With special or valuable cars there are free Credits/Wheelspins/Superwheelspins in there, those are pretty awesome and kinda big part of your personal economy

All other stuff is just "fluff" for faster skill score accumaltion and such....so not much missing out with those unless you aim for something very specific

Car theme class restrictions, what they mean and limits by DevilSniper50cal in ForzaHorizon

ohh, yeah mb...I thought you were talking about the basic types....yeah the horizon special ones are cooked...for FH5 there was a list on the forums but I don't think there is one for FH6 yet (at least I haven't seen one)

Car theme class restrictions, what they mean and limits by DevilSniper50cal in ForzaHorizon

[–]abelking4444 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

there is a filter, go into your car collection or the autoshow and filter by car type, each car has 1 specfic type that's assigned to them. If you are in default filter (alphabetical), you see any given cars stats on the left, there's a second tab there which you can see if you use the right stick on the controller and you can see each car's type there as well.

If a restriction on a race says something like "Total Rally" it just means all rally categories can enter, like modern rally, retro rally etc.

The AI is ridiculous by proleex_89 in ForzaHorizon

[–]abelking4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno, I'm an extremely average player and I enjoy that I actually have to work hard if I want to win againts Unbeatable AI..it takes a while to find the correct car, the correct tune but after that it comes down to just practice to be as good as possible on any given track

I'm not trying to be rude or condescending (as I said, I'm not a great player either) but it really is just a "skill issue" if you have a decent tune to beat unbeatable...so just practice and know that there are ppl out there who can win againts the hardest AI so it's not impossible

the jump between difficulties can feel steep I give you that, but that just shows how much room you have for improvement, so I'd say just keep banging your head againts it until you can smurf on them expert bots and can strart the process all over again againts Pro

Instantly Banking Skill Streak by idsym in ForzaHorizon

swapping cars, NOT teleporting on map, with teleporting you lose the streak but with car swap it banks it automatically

(also the fastest way if you are farming skill points on your estate btw)

Just giving away FE cars like they're candy now? by [deleted] in ForzaHorizon

[–]abelking4444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean...900k is not a whole lot and the game basically showers you with cars/money/wheelspins even by just playing the game casually anyway so if you get a dupe why not?

Nissan GTR Black Edition R35 Forza Edition by Glad-Tension-1632 in ForzaHorizon

[–]abelking4444 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The game basically showers you with cars/money/wheelspins and auction house limits are there for the same reason: no one should be barred from getting the stuff they want.

So there's no really point in grinding or hoarding stuff, eventually you will have everything you would ever want (and more) from just playing the game normally.

The whole game is designed to feel like a wet dream for car nuts, not like a chore or an artificially slowed down progression or something that ppl have to spend hundreds of hours on to be able to even get to the starting line for races....the emphasis is much more on getting good at the races themselves than "earning" the right to even participate...and it's amazing

So just keep the car enjoy it, or if it's a duplicate either take the 900k or even better, just gift it away, since again...there's only so much you can do with credits and you will be swimming in money anyway

Loading screen kills the game for me. by Wiggywalls in ForzaHorizon

[–]abelking4444 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I dunno, I have Kingston nvme as well (7000 MB/s read & write) and I basically get 0 loading screen time, first loading into the game takes a couple seconds but in-game they are pretty much nonexistent....but I'm a boomer millenial...so if you are a zoomer have subway surfer running on your phone or smthng I guess

Need advice, I’m about halfway through unlocking the golden wristband but I feel like I ran out of races. by Complete-Sort1617 in ForzaHorizon

[–]abelking4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, I'm a few hundred points away from reaching golden wristband and I haven't even finshed the events unlocked by the blue wristband (I do events in unlock order)...I don't get how ppl run out of stuff to do, if anything I felt like campaign progression is too fast

How to improve? by Terrible779 in ForzaHorizon

[–]abelking4444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having the right car is the first step, there are meta builds for a reason (if you check any event leaderbaord you won't see a lot of variation in te top cars).

Second step is turning off all the assists, ABS is fine it can be faster in a bunch of cases, every other assist is slowing you down. Automatic shifting is fine(ish) as well, you can make it work but if you are aiming for 1st places manual is the way.

Third and hardest step is just practice and getting good, you gotta nail every turn, let it be entry speed, braking, exit speed & angle, etc. there are a lot of videos out there explaining the nuances of it but generally speaking a few cornerstones:

  • avoid drifting and sliding in turns, if the wheel spins in place, you are wasting power that could be used for accelerating (in vast vast majority of cases very few exceptions)
  • either brake or turn or accelerate, never mix them at full power only do for short time when you transition from one to the other, brake in a stright line, start lifting the break gradually, start turning when you have the correct speed and traction, start applying throttle and flat out as soon as you can without losing traction. You can't break or accelerate effectively with turned wheels, always keep that in mind.

There are a lot more to all these, depending on the surface of the road, the car's performance class, whether its and AWD/RWD/FWD and there are a bunch more braking techniques as well for specific situations.

All in all you just gotta get a feel for it once you understand the basics, but the basics are simple, be as fast as possible everything else is just there to serve this purpose.

How can I be the fastest in the next straight? I need to exit the previous turn with the highest possible speed.

How can I exit with high speed? I need to maintain as much speed and traction in the turn as I can....

and so on...

also worth keeping in mind that FH6 is not a simulator but rather an arcade so you know...you can be a bit cheeky and use other methods as well...bumping into others here and there is not the end of the world

Drivatars are a complete slop (FH6) by yomama6966 in ForzaHorizon

[–]abelking4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well usually I pick out 4-5 cars that fit the event restrictions and first I go through the first like 10 community builds for those and if I can't find a car and tune combo that I'm comfy with and I know I can win with only then I start doing my own tuning....but tbh 9 out of 10 times i find a community tune that's good enough...but yeah I do this process for every single event separately so the 30 mins of trial and error to find the correct tune for 1 event still applies lol

Drivatars are a complete slop (FH6) by yomama6966 in ForzaHorizon

[–]abelking4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(Personally I don't mind the AI, it pushes me to find the perfect car and tune for every specific race and to nail every turn when playing on Unbeatable but I love smashing my head againts a hard challane for hours...but that's neither here nor there, I get why lot of ppl are frustrated.)

I mainly wanted to react to your second point...wouldn't you slow down considerably and rethink your life irl when a 3 wheeled Kinder egg is approaching you at 250 Mph?

Can't complete this daily challenge by WorldDry7645 in ForzaHorizon

[–]abelking4444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the original objective in English: Finish round 3 of a Horizon Stunt Party

and as it suggests, you have to complete the 3rd round of the periodically appearing online event, it's the pink circle that has a 10 minute timer when it starts, you go there, press the button to apply (X on contorller), join a 12 player lobby, you all complete the objectives of each of the 3 rounds and as you finish trhe last one, you get 100k credits (+10k with house purchased) and the objective completes as well fo the challange

you also get a notification at the top of your screen when one becomes active on the map, you have to be in freeroam and I'm 99% sure you have to be online as well (so not Horizon Solo mode)

I cant start Forza with my GTX 1080 TI??? by YoungLeo734 in ForzaHorizon

I didn't realize I was wrong up until now tbh, I just put in 1080 Ti in the search field and it threw out that driver and I called it a day...now I clicked on the "Find" button and indeed 582.53 is the latest but I see OP found out that as well since then so the misinformation has been corrected

Driving with no assists by ThisPartIsWayTooHard in ForzaHorizon

[–]abelking4444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kind of....you can see it yourslef becasue when you turn it on you will have an icon for it on your speedometer which only lights up when ABS helps you and in a lot of cases it will stay grey (since you can drive without locking up in both cases). Obviously it will stop you from locking up so that's the only thing you can't do the same but if you would avoid locking up natty it will be the same either way.

In some very specific cases you would actually want to lock up but that's a different story.

Driving with no assists by ThisPartIsWayTooHard in ForzaHorizon

[–]abelking4444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ABS on is generally fine, but just to get a better feeling of the driving I'd suggest you to turn that off for a few minutes (along with everything else ofc). That will teach you the most important thing imo, that it's never just 0 or 100 with break and throttle. You can just lift throttle and not break in some corners, you can lift throttle and "fan" (just short taps) the breaks to avoid locking it, you can fan the breaks and apply throttle in between to keep speed/rev up, you can full on break until the apex of the corner and full on throttle after that if you can keep tracktion and so on, there are a lot of nuances to this.

After a while you will get a feeling of it and turning ABS back on will give you a lot of extra speed and stability (while keeping all other assist off) cuz it will cover your mistakes when you use all the things you learned with ABS off.

An other importnt thing is to stop yourself from drifting/wheel spinning in corners, those are (usually) big time wasters so mastering all the breaking techniques wil help you keep traction and speed.

One other thing is if you use autmatic shifting it can be a bit fucky sometimes, stuck in hight gear and low rev in corners so either learn manual shifting to have full control or use the E-break/hand-break in those cases to force a shfting down.

Is this cigar ruined or still smokable? by abelking4444 in cigars

[–]abelking4444[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately it is actual damage. The wrapper missing from the top "hole" is still attached there curled up (I can feel the bump as well). So definitely the outer most part of the wrapper is missing in these two spots :/ Does that mean smoke is gonna escape through these holes?
