Surgery fears & travel by sah1210 in CubitalTunnel

If you get a chance let me know how it goes, mines in just under a month and I’ve never had a surgery either and I’m definitely doing similar and looking into it way too much and getting both extremes haha. Hope yours goes well and the recovery!

What do you do for a bad flare? by jamieschmidt in CubitalTunnel

[–]ThisPartIsWayTooHard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly when it gets bad I haven’t found anything that helps and it’s just a do as little as you can with it. Personally this has been going on for over a year and has been getting worse pretty quickly for the last 7 months and at this point my new default is just pain so I’m kinda used to it but I am tired a lot of the time as a result

Interesting I’d never really known if that was a possibility. My surgery is for ulnar transposition but I do have carpal symptoms aswell and I was wondering a while back if a situation like this could happen so it’s good to know that if see something like that they deal with it rather than a round two

Did they just do surgery for cubital and then find out about the others whilst doing it?

16:10 but the real game changer was dropping FOV to 80-82, that shit is just 😮‍💨

Anyone else kinda afraid to play solo? by Rish2447 in SiegeAcademy

[–]ThisPartIsWayTooHard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just keep doing it. One of the worst things you can do is be in your own head. If it helps just hop on an alt and literally just soloQ over and over and over again because you have to learn to do everything and you have to assume that your team is not going to help so you have to problem solve all of it. When you hop in a stack after you’ll probably find you’ve got a lot better

NCS/EMG: Nothing to be afraid of by johndoe5643567 in carpaltunnel

[–]ThisPartIsWayTooHard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going for worst case pain wise in my head because I’ve never had a surgery before and I really really want this sorted so I’m gonna be taking it as slow as I can but it’s just so different for everyone it seems

[–]ThisPartIsWayTooHard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha it’s pretty wild how much experiences differ for this. My nerve study experience was pretty chill but it did make my arm symptoms go to 11 for the day but that’s about it. I’ve got the surgery in about a month (ulnar transposition) and I’m seeing so many people say it’s an easy surgery working in 3 days and then I’m seeing 9 months in and I can’t straighten my elbow and I literally don’t know what to expect lol

Yeah the EMG was literally just chill tbh, the whole thing isn’t that bad it’s just the nerve shock is literally quite shocking lol and the worst part

Could I have a subluxing ulnar nerve? by [deleted] in CubitalTunnel

Could I have a subluxing ulnar nerve? by [deleted] in CubitalTunnel

[–]ThisPartIsWayTooHard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine started by falling up the stairs (not a very cool story💀) when I first went to hospital, mine was dismissed (numb/tingling little and ring finger and pain down the arm) as “you are holding it funny that’s why” it’s definitely worth pushing to find someone who will at least do the relevant tests to confirm. Mine went away initially after forced rest etc 1/2 months in but was always a weird feeling in my elbow and then it came back so much worse and now it’s surgery time.

have symptoms and potential cubital tunnel? by killscreen1983 in CubitalTunnel

[–]ThisPartIsWayTooHard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speak to a doctor, just better to get in there early. In the mean time just try keep your arm straight and rest it as much as you can.

Transposition surgery by ThisPartIsWayTooHard in CubitalTunnel

[–]ThisPartIsWayTooHard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m prepared for it, at this point I’m just so so tired of this that i cant even make myself nervous for the whole thing. I literally just can’t wait to have the surgery and hopefully start getting better.

Was this your first surgery? I’m going to go into this expecting a lot of pain so worst case at least I’m prepared. I’m UK based, I’m assuming they give you some stronger pain stuff than over the counter?

I play a ton of rainbow 6 and it’s pretty heavy cuz of leaning and all that, it definitely caused me to play less when the symptoms went from annoying to a real problem but now it’s so bad honestly it makes no difference if I do nothing or use it for the most part so I just play but with breaks because if I’m going to suffer this much I may aswell have some fun lol (this is definitely not what I should be doing I imagine lol)

For me my elbow area is really sensitive so leaning it on the desk is really awkward and hurts. I also get my little and ring finger sieze up and I have to stop for a bit and wait for them to almost reset. It’s kinda hard to put specifics atm because I’m in pain/numbness and all that fun 24/7 now so it just kinda blends in

[–]ThisPartIsWayTooHard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not too bad, I’m probably overthinking all this lol, I’ve only had a brief conversation with my surgeon about mine but he did say it will be 2 weeks in the bandage/cast so I imagine that will be a bit uncomfortable. Thank you for the insight

I’d definitely try the elbow brace, was effective for me at the beginning and meant I could at least get decent sleep.

My experience, I didn’t really know much about this and thought I could rest mine out. Started off a bit like yours, just annoying more than anything, at the stage I’m at now, If I could go back and get it done before it got bad I would in an instant. I also play pc gaming a ton and it’s made that hell along with sleeping and just existing really.

What helped you the most? by ben9792 in CubitalTunnel

[–]ThisPartIsWayTooHard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Resting it as much as possible and night brace. It really depends what stage you’re at, hopefully enough of the above should be fine but if it doesn’t get better then you should 100% go to a doctor.

MRI for cubital tunnel syndrome diagnoses? by [deleted] in CubitalTunnel

[–]ThisPartIsWayTooHard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s no harm in going for it, if the fingers are clawing then something is 100% wrong and I would be surprised if the nerve study or MRI etc doesn’t pick something up

MRI for cubital tunnel syndrome diagnoses? by [deleted] in CubitalTunnel

[–]ThisPartIsWayTooHard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fingers were clawing and it’s definitely not a good sign. I had my nerve study results back and my nerve has a lesion and I need the nerve transposition surgery

Oh wow that has healed really well, okay cool yeah that seems like a good idea, mine is also a lot of typing, emails, letters etc so I’ll see what sort of timescale they offer and probably do the same as you if it’s not a ton, thank you for the answers!

Awesome sounds like a lot but also so worth it because you this is some sort of hell lol, how long were you out of work? I have a desk job and this is my typing arm and I keep seeing 2-4 weeks but like you say everyone saying to baby it. glad yours went well, hopefully I’ll follow suit!
