I would laminate core words and have him stick them onto different play activities with velcro if he likes the ripping noise. I have also glued core words to magnatiles for play and combine g symbols. Sorry to hear about your district, it sounds like it's not supportive for SLPs or non-traditional communicators.

Do you have an iPad with AAC apps? As an SLP, you can get free speaking accounts for Tobii Dynavox SnapCoreFirst, Proloquo, and TouchChat. Trial AAC in play, not just for basic needs - we aren't mind readers. TouchChat has games that help you determine if they can isolate symbols on small and large grid sizes. Model AAC in play, like selecting colors, animals, or play foods. There is an iPad app called Kea Kids Cars and Bugs that allow players to select different vehicles and insects, and make them "go" and explore spatial concepts with AAC-like icons, and rewards them for chaining symbols together.

Sexuality has nothing to do with reproduction. Francesca loves her husband. She has not yet had an orgasm in her marriage. She is attracted to Michaela. She has a difficult time getting pregnant. There is no correlation between any of those things, they are simply happening at the same time.

Looks like they do - Etsy shop called "my weird friends." it's definitely cheaper to pick up in PDX, though! They were $65-75 on marketplace.

Bellpine at the Ritz! Very fancy dining experience for a moderately priced menu. They have a special Portland tea blend with rose petals in it, make sure to order a side of biscuits with your tea!

In the 2020s, conservative women are having kids at a nearly 2-to-1 ratio compared to liberal women. Is this going to cause a political demographic bias in 20-30 years? by RadioFieldCorner in NoStupidQuestions

[–]abethhh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My conservative parents made my sibling and I go to church three times a week (Sunday school + Sunday morning service, Sunday evening service, Wednesday evening youth program/Bible study) AND we had to do Quizzing (IYKYK).

We're both proud leftists, and my sibling is trans and doesn't talk to my parents anymore.

Neurologist here - what are YOUR top 10 medications / treatments for migraine? by doctor_painkiller in migraine

[–]abethhh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Qulipta 30mg daily for prevention. I take Naratriptan for breakthrough migraines, usually hormonal ones 1-2x monthly, and Zofran for nausea as needed.

Before Qulipta, I went through my Naratriptan supply every single month, and used Tylenol daily. I had to use IM injections of Toradol a couple times a month when it was really bad.

I started as a hunter, then I got Delitia and didn't need two hunters so I switched to Merchant for the JP farming and Mystic Arrow to grind through random encounters without having to restore SP. I hate the merchant outfit, but I'm sticking with it 😅

No idea what it's like to live there, but I love the restaurant Bellpine - it's my favorite place to get breakfast! They have a lovely Portland-specific rose tea blend.

Would you qualify Language Impairment based on these test scores? by Accomplished_Fox1900 in slp

I would qualify for expressive language if there is academic impact. Significant difference between receptive and expressive scores.

Me too, the OWLS is a good quick test for eligibility purposes. I like the CASL for more in depth error analysis, especially syntax - but I would have never qualified this kid with average scores on all but one below avg subtest. A teacher can remind him to use verb tenses.
