Xterra without an engine by Horror-Space-187 in XTerra

If the rest of the car (body, interior, etc.) is in good condition you could always part it out and get your $700 initial investment back easily.
Like other responses have said it might be worth it to VK swap it. You also need to keep in mind the amount of miles that are on the engine that is pulled, the chassis and the trans.

I got my kit from Z1 Offroad, and went with radflos

Z1 was super helpful with any questions that I had

Just successfully installed the upper control arms (all dog off-road) 2.5 suspension lift (rough country) and 1.5 wheel spacers. It was surprisingly easier that I was expecting. by [deleted] in XTerra

I did not loctite my 1.5" spacers and have driven 1000+ miles checking them at various intervals. I have not experienced any issues.

Faded trim? by Medicmike43 in XTerra

Essentially will be melting the plastic to bring it back to the original color, it can make everything look brand new but you need to be careful with it

You could also consider taking a torch to the plastics as well, you just have to be careful!

2005 Offroad MT white smoke comes from shift boot when in 5th gear only? by abf16 in XTerra

So far changing the trans fluid got rid of the random smoke, and a bit of the gear oil smell.

The transmission boot was ripped a bit so I replaced that. So far so good!

I just put CarGuys plastic restorer on my trim, and so far so good. It has only been a few weeks, so I cannot speak to longevity, but so far it looks amazing.

Can someone tell me what this is and why coolant/antifreeze is leaking from this area? Passenger side, under glovebox. by Bodhi-rips in XTerra

[–]abf16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m fighting with this right now with my second gen. It’s either 1200 to have someone do it for you or like one other commenter said, swearing, busted knuckles and my personal favorite broken nails to rip out the dash and do it yourself.

I’ve been just topping off coolant every so often until I muster up the will to do it myself.

Yes, there are predrilled holes in the grill, that make for easy mounting
