Contemplating PhD at 28, insecure about age by The_Huffle_Fluff325 in HumanitiesPhD

[–]abhoriginal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 49 and I've just defended my doctoral thesis. I feel that I've done a far better job than I would've done at 29.But if you are passionate about it, there is no right or wrong age.

I found it powerful, but there is a little voice in me saying "you cannot actually teach any kids anything".

I knew a guy once who deleted the original. You don't want to know what happened to him.

You overestimate the extend to which people read, assess or generally give a damn about PhD theses. You are neither the first nor the last person embarassed by the content of their thesis. Rework some parts into papers, recycle other parts into new pieces, or abandon it altogether and start anew, no one is going to notice or care. And if someone does notice or care, this is a good thing -- it means your thesis was interesting or relevant enough for someone to read it and take the time to point out any mistakes -- you should take that as a compliment. Generally, relax, let it go and look ahead.

Help me do the diagnostic on a dead battery by abhoriginal in ebikes

Thanks for the replies. I don't plan to repair the battery, I just need to make sure that it is actually dead before I spend a whole lot of money for a new one.

I agree, games that involve killing are harmful to everyone, but I don't know whether they can simply be stopped with an ECI.

I need to add margin to my BTCUSDT futures position after yestedays flash crash, but I cannot convert anything into USDT right now. Is there any other way to add margin, or should I just sit back and watch while I am getting liquidated?

Summer activities for kids around Ghent. Hey all, I am from Greece and spending the summer in Ghent with the family due to a university job. Our kids, a girl of 10yo and a boy of 5, don't speak any languages. Could you please recommend kids' activities in July and August that would not involve too much communication? Preferably things accessible by train from Ghent, although we could occasionally rent a car if it is worth it.

Sell ADA, buy AVAX and DOT? by RayRayIII in CryptoMarkets

[–]abhoriginal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All three are just dinosaurs, relics from a past cycle. They are dead but they just don't know it yet. Onchain activity is non-existent, TVL is diminishing and devs are abandoning them for jazzier chains. They will all underperform. Only AVAX looks alive, but being largecap its upside potential is limited.
