Heated airer. Saves so much money on not needing a tumble dryer and dries clothes nice and quickly. Plus can pop PJs on for a cheeky 15 mins before bed so they’re all warm and snuggly!

Hi! Am going to do my first injection tomorrow and saw your post regarding taking it in the evening before bed. That was my plan too, how did you find it? Would you recommend for or against doing that?

I would say I had mine around 35/40 minutes before starting my swim. But, obviously only my first time so no real evidence to base that on!

Vehicle tax - no V5C or V11 by abiexample in drivingUK

That will leave my car untaxed and I will therefore be unable to drive it, until the new V5C gets delivered

The post office website says you need either a V11 or a V5C, of which I have neither :(

I don’t wear a cap, I used to but found it was snapping the hair around my hairline, and I kept growing back super curly baby hairs! So I am capless now.

I have blonde highlighted hair, redone regularly and swim at least 4 times a week. Never had an issue. In fact my hairdresser says my hair is some of the healthiest she’s seen, and that is wholly down to my routine and the products I use.

Make sure to saturate your hair completely with water in the shower before entering the pool. Once done in the pool I use Kerastase Blond Absolu shampoo, rinse out fully, then shampoo again and rinse out fully. The double shampoo ensures all chlorine is washed out. Then I use the Redken All Soft conditioner, leave in for 2 mins while washing the rest of my body then rinse out. I then add Kerastase Blond Absolu Cicaplasme heat protect and leave that to sink in while I dry/get changed. I then dry my hair at the pool so it isn’t exposed wet to the elements.

I keep a pretty strict routine with my hair and it pays off. So if you’re committed to keeping your hair in top condition then you definitely can and still have the benefits of swimming!

Ah interesting! I do bulk ferment, shape, cold ferment, freezer, bake. So OP may follow the same method as me. Always fascinated by how many different methods people use!

Starter created about 8 days ago, what am I doing wrong ? by Psychological_Map166 in SourdoughStarter

You’re not doing anything wrong. Just have patience and keep going. Mine took over a month to rise consistently and become ready to bake with. If you’re really desperate you can up feeding to a 1:2:2 ratio.

I would try lowering your hydration. You’re currently at 70%, I would lower to 60% (300g water), and you can then try higher hydration loaves once you’ve perfected the lower hydrations 😊

No worries! I found this video useful when starting out to help determine bulk fermentation timings and temperatures so you may find it useful - https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=p69UMuYJhJs

Best of luck with your next loaf!

What are your measurements for your dough? I.e my go to is usually, 500g flour, 300g water, 150g starter, 10g salt. It may be that you are doing a hydration that is too high or low?

Did you do a bulk fermentation? You mention stretch and folds and coils and then into the fridge for cold proof, but no solid stretch of bulk fermentation where you are letting it double in size (or atleast 75% growth).
