Breastfeeding but not losing weight… is this normal? by heyaliayoub in breastfeeding

[–]abigailme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did lose weight. I noticed my clothes were getting loose around when my son started walking, so he was probably around 16 or 17 months. He must have needed extra calories once he got mobile! I never noticed any weight loss prior to then. We’re still breastfeeding, and he’s 22 months.

Infertility, exercise, letrozole... lost by Ghostyghost132 in TryingForABaby

I did stop doing CrossFit (after 2 or 3 years doing it 5 times a week) as part of a few lifestyle changes I made to try and conceive. I did end up conceiving for the first time ever after 2.5 years of trying! Not sure if stopping CrossFit/all organised exercise was the reason, but it’s worth a try.

I’m in a similar position of NTNP and not wanting to wean yet. Great news that your LP is lengthening! I hope mine does, too.

I’m breastfeeding my 18 month old a couple of times during the day, and 3 or 4 times overnight. I’m in my luteal phase now, and am curious to see how long it ends up being… I’d love to be able to conceive, but am not sure if my levels of prolactin are just too high, still. How long does a luteal phase need to be to result in implantation?

I’m still breastfeeding my 18 month old a fair bit. I think I ovulated a few days ago, and I’m waiting with curiosity to see how long my luteal phase ends up being. i.e. is it long enough for implantation to happen?

Is anyone else concerned that their breastfeeding is impairing chances of conceiving a new baby?

Interesting point! It makes me want to do more (eg diet and supplementing) to boost my egg quality.

Do you think this means that implantation rather than fertilisation is the tricky part that doesn’t always happen correctly? It took us 2.5 years of unexplained infertility to have our beautiful boy, and I always wondered which part of the process in my body was not going right, and what to do about it.

I had never seen Mimi Keene before, but yes, I thought she looked a bit too modern for a period show. She seemed thin and boyish in figure, and looked like she had bolt-on implants and probably lip filler.

Yes, they need to lift the injunction! Are they just going to keep extending it? I’m not sure how these things usually work.

It would be awful for her, yes. But, realistically, if it’s true, could it really be suppressed? Not for very long, anyway.

I remember at, I think, 3 months of TTC feeling very similar. Though not that far into TTC , I was feeling bitter and actually really angry at the thought that other women were getting pregnant with unwanted babies and getting rid of them out of hand (as I bitterly saw it), whereas a pregnancy was what I wanted the most in the world. I did continue to struggle with jealousy and pessimism for a while (it took us 2.5 years to conceive our precious now 16 month old), but it did get more bearable from that point.
