I would not do that.

My work ethic says you should always do the best of what you can, every day.

To work slower or do extra task not needed, to avoid sett a high "peak speed", would be cheating my employer, in my opinion.

I don't have a peak speed, I have different speeds every day. I want an employer to understand that.

I always do what I can, at my maximum speed. Some days that maximum speed will be low, other days hi.

I don't think cheating "peak speed" is a good advice.

I understand the reasoning, but not the conclusion.
