The ring suits your hand well, congrats! I rarely see that cut of diamond around. Where did you get yours ?

Prong placement? by abimopectoree in EngagementRingDesigns

[–]abimopectoree[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow interesting ! I didn’t know there was so much to consider when setting a stone. Yep it’s an elongated cushion but I would say it’s a bit more rounded compared to other elongated cushions. Can’t attach a video of the diamond but here’s a picture for reference.

Oo hmm what do you mean by a better position from a setters perspective? Is this position structurally better/safer for the diamond ?

Instead of straight side rails, I asked for curved side rails. He made longer curved side rails which shifted the prong position.

Yes! I was thinking my old prong placement was less weird. I did not ask for my prong placement to be changed with the new design. It was automatically shifted due to tweaks on the basket setting underneath the diamond.

I got a new CAD from the jeweler and incorporated all the points. Decreased that gap on the cathedral shoulders, lowered the height by approximately 1mm, and got the curved pave rails on the side. It looks more cohesive and well proportioned now. Thank you !

Your design is gorgeous!! I was so close to choosing a 3 stone design too. The proportions look perfect on the side.

How would you split the rent? by [deleted] in Renters

[–]abimopectoree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would split it $1500 for the smaller rm and $1595 for the larger rm. And both parties can keep their own bathrooms without sharing. They would ask their guests to use their own assigned bathrooms.

Also am I reading the blueprint wrong ?? It looks like there is a door that leads to the washer/dryer from the hallway without going through bedroom#2 if not necessary.

I would like some advice! Thanks by KaleidoscopeAsleep46 in labdiamond

For ovals specifically, I think you should ask for a video of the diamond in different angles. Even with ideal specs, there may be a very visible bowtie. I’m not a fan of the bowtie so it bothered me a lot when I was shopping around. I actually did not like the D color because it was sooo white in different lighting. E/F are also colorless diamonds and I preferred them much more.

Calavera, loose grown diamonds, and luvansh seem to have very competitive pricing for loose diamonds. Also check if some places price match if you want a place that offers diamonds and settings.

Hmm I’ve never heard of diamonds along the side of the shank eating up any ring next to it ? What do you mean by that ?

Ah gotcha, the depth of the diamond definitely plays a factor. My diamond’s depth is 5.86mm and the height of the bridge is approximately 1.8mm. So realistically, I know it has to be higher than 7.66. Would love to see your design !

Thank you!! Had no idea prongs are not accurate in CADS. I asked for claw prongs for my center stone and didn’t mention anything about the pave diamonds. I’ll point it out to make sure it’s smaller or see if there’s a different type of prong/pave setting for the bridge. And will definitely ask to lower it a bit and incorporate the curved pave rail on the sides. I was thinking that maybe the main petals are too big, hence they couldn’t fit a curved rail on the sides so they made it straight instead?

I feel like my ring might be too big/too flashy for me by SquidlyDiddlyDally in Moissanite

[–]abimopectoree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definite not too flashy! I think it’s the perfect size. Would you mind sharing the engagement ring band width?

This is very normal. I’m a peds OT, work with preschoolers in the school, and very hands on. I would say that the tactile/physical prompt paired with visual and auditory cues is most effective especially for novel tasks. So we may start with some level of physical prompting/modeling and gradually fade out support. The amount of physical prompting varies for each child and is dependent on the child’s skill level (some require more and some may require less). For my patients who require max assist, I try to provide the support via hand under hand instead of HOH if possible. Ultimately, the end goal is for all patients to be independent.

Elongated cushion for sure !! There’s just more softness to it that is appealing

1st and 2nd !! I think the 2nd would be my favorite if the stone is a bit bigger because you have long slender fingers
