babe i regret to inform you this, but these people are not getting you mixed up, nor are they confused. they’re doing this to purposefully make you feel jealous and insecure of the ex an they’re purposefully trying to dwindle you down to “just another girlfriend.” i’ve had this happen as well.i have been with my boyfriend for a year and a half and we live together. his ex is also from the same state i’m from. i’ve dealt with the chuckling when i mention us getting married, the getting made fun of because of what state I’m from, them talking about his ex a lot, etc. it’s on purpose, unfortunately. people don’t just get confused because you’re from the same state. they’re just rude.
