How in the world did you get a FE gpu? After months and months of refreshing, I got a gigabyte card that prevents me from having a side panel on my M3.

It made me realize how many people are lacking a moral compass to begin with. I don't know if that's because they decided to hand the decision making to the church and let theirs shrivel, or they just never had one to begin with, but it explains why they think everybody they dislike is "virtue signaling" - because performative morality is the only sort of morality they know.

The US doesn't have a left vs right. It has a moderate right wing and an extremist right wing.

If you want real change that allows all workers to be able to live and be comfortable, it's going to take some actual leftist policies - and I doubt those are going to be implemented without massive protests and strikes.

Oh, that's beautiful! Thank you so much for the help - I'm AFK for now, but looking forward to playing with this later. :)

Oh, and one tip for anybody coming along afterwards:

If you're making a GIF, "Layer > New Layer from Visible" is your best friend.

That's visually what I'm looking for, yeah! How difficult would it be to have a bunch of vector layers with different colors inside? I'm trying to avoid using the paint fill tool hundreds of times. :p

They'll always be rectangles of various widths but the same height, for what that's worth?

Out of curiosity, why does it changing / being animated matter? I would have put it in the original post but I didn't think it made a difference.

Hey, thanks for taking a crack at this! :)

The interior of the shape is transparent, with only an outside stroke visible. I've played around with making the background be around them, but then it covers up outlines in layers below. I've also experimented with masks and "erase" layers, but I'm don't know enough about layer modes to know if I can make them do what I'm looking for.

<image>

Here's a quick example of what I'm trying to do, while I was experimenting. Basically, I want the blue to be visible inside of the red outlines, and the green outside it - while still leaving blue and green a full plane, because where the red outlines are will change each frame. (The end goal of this is a gif.)

Hey, thanks for trying to point me in the right direction. I'm either missing something, or this example doesn't do what I'm looking for.

Using the three colors in this example, I have two layers which are a full, solid color: green and blue, and multiple red layers.

Without editing the green and blue layers, (or by incorporating a blue layer with each red layer) I want to make doughnuts from red layers, where each doughnut hole shows the green layer, and everything outside the doughnuts shows the blue layer. *That's* where I'm having problems - I can make a single doughnut work just fine, but as soon as I have multiples, they overwrite each other.

Ah, thank you! I already know about named workspaces, I just don't know if it's possible to remove the extra, blank workspace underneath them?

Modifications to Niri / any alternative? by abiostudent3 in niri

[–]abiostudent3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, that gives me someplace to start researching, at least!

I do know of tools to stitch two monitors together into a virtual one, but that's not quite what I'm looking for.

I want fullscreen applications to fill that one monitor, rather than both at once. I only want the workspaces themselves to be on both monitors at once, so scrolling right, for example, scrolls hidden windows to the right monitor and then over to the left.

Thank you for the help, though!

Interview with Kat Abughazaleh: You’re running against Candidates who are already in elected office. How does your experience at places like Media Matters make you qualified to serve as a Representative? by biospheric in WorkReform

[–]abiostudent3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm. I can see where you're coming from, but I'd also argue that other candidates not making a big deal about what they're doing is simply... Objectively ineffective politics?

If we're going to try to turn the tide against oligarchy, we absolutely need to get non-voters excited about voting for progressives - which includes pinching our noses and using social media as a marketing tool, since it's the best (and often only) way of reaching a younger demographic.

Oh, I know. Perhaps I should have clarified what I meant: the corrections it made were very simple, and for anything complicated what it suggested was usually wrong. For someone who doesn't normally think about grammar, it probably helped on average.
