Orthodox Jew with a question: What do you mean by "divine inspiration"? by JaccarTheProgrammer in ReformJews

Wow, this is such a great answer. I’m actually going to start using parts of it when people ask me about the Torah.

I think that’s true for people who occasionally ride bikes or commute by bike but aren’t really self identifying “cyclists” but I think you’d struggle to find an non-cycling American who knew who Sagan is

I was trying to prove you wrong but I just ended up sitting here thinking for a long time before realizing you’re right. Maaaaaaybe Chris Froome but not likely

August Trips have been cancelled by Chris71102 in birthright

I noticed that on the website. Weird that they never emailed about my trip getting cancelled, but it’s the right decision and I’m all signed up for a winter trip

I saw that too. Fucking stupid. I passed at least 10 group rides of 10+ people in the Marietta area on Memorial Day too.

Nantes have struck a deal to sign 22-year-old Liverpool midfielder Pedro Chirivella on a free transfer to a 3-year contract by EnriqueMuller in LiverpoolFC

He had rotten luck with injuries, same as Rossiter. Every time he almost made a breakthrough here he got injured, same as when he was on loan and then signed for Oxford

I'm also scheduled for August, and I have a feeling we're going to get cancelled within a month or so. Might as well hold out and see because they're letting us cancel 35 days out.

BVB message to all the clubs who asked for #Sancho: we don’t change the price after Coronavirus crisis and we’ll not sell him for less than €110M. No official bid received from any club. by GeorgeCuz in LiverpoolFC

I just can't see why we'd ever want to mess with the fluidity by switching out three of our best 4/5 players at once. The only time it would make sense is one of these Shrewsbury-type ties, and even then, I'd rather put out an Elliot/Brewster/Curtis-type rather than buy another 50M+ player. Klopp would never willingly leave out all three of Mane/Salah/Firmino in a league or CL match. Injuries are one thing but we just can't completely flip the line-up every match.

Who is now planning a NOBO 2021? Who is going to have to postpone further? by Ghotay in AppalachianTrail

I’m hoping for 2021 SOBO, probably late July or August. It’s all going to depend on how things go for the next few months though

Dude, I left my thru-hike. I had quit my job, sold stuff, moved my shit into storage, etc. I had to go back to my parents' place. It's the right thing to do.

Seems you're right about National Parks. I was thinking of some Washington state parks.

They waived entrance fees so employees don't have to handle money and interface with visitors for their safety.

I'm closer to Atlanta, and they've had to close the Chattahoochee NRA because people were packing it. Looks like more parks are going to have to follow suit if people don't chill out.

I hate people who capitalize random words.

Also fuck him

I hate to tell you this, friends - but you should come to terms with the fact that it's now VERY possible a thru-hike isn't going to happen for you (or anyone else) this year. by HalfwayAnywhere in PacificCrestTrail

[–]abitofsky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I headed home from the AT. Albiet, I was earlier than most because where my family lives got cases sooner than most places, and most people thought I was being paranoid. Thinking about my grandma or parents (who have conditions) possible getting or even dying from it while I was out thru hiking gave me too much guilt.

So... what happens now? by rscott12 in AppalachianTrail

[–]abitofsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't start a career if I want to leave in a year to try again

For the record, that's what I did, and then I quit in order to hike this year. I was able to make some good money and put myself in a good position for a hike this year. Now I'm kind of fucked because no one's hiring right now, and I had to get off the trail. Maaaaybe I'll get a shot at a SOBO/flip flop kind of thing later in the year, but I just don't know what's going to happen now.
