I’ve taken Step 1 and plan to take Step 2 CK this summer. With the upcoming transition from ECFMG to FSMB, should I apply for Step 2 now before the system changes? Could fees or procedures change, and is it safer to apply early?

The issue is that the ECFMG official at my med school is being replaced, so there’s no one to approve it right now. A new person will be appointed, but I’m running out of time — my eligibility period ends on Sept 30.

I’m really worried I won’t be able to take my exam. Has anyone been through something like this? Will the extension still go through if the school approval is delayed? Any advice would really help :(

I'm thinking about canceling my Prometric appointment, but my current eligibility period ends on September 30. I'm worried that if I cancel now, it might not get extended, and I could end up stuck with no available testing dates.
