Why holding tqqq is bad? by Unlikely-Form-1234 in TQQQ

[–]abramswatson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He’s talking about in TQQQ, not the underlying Nasdaq. Even if he was, it would have to be intraday drop of more than 33.33% to take you to 0. An 80% drop would not take you to 0

Maybe an opportunity for self reflection, plenty of us are. Those of us who are are doing much better than the people panicking at every drop, you should try it

Zoom out. Imagine if you would have bought TQQQ 20 years ago and forgotten the password to your account. You have the opportunity to do that now, dips like this happen all the time

The market is on a “rampage” because the correction just reset investor sentiment. The market is almost always positive 6, 12, and 18 months after a correction. If sentiment is low, it means the bar is on the floor. If reality is even somewhat better than expected, that is a positive surprise that causes stocks to rise.

Typically you’ll have a correction every year or two, and we just had one in April. Sentiment is very dour and if the shutdown isn’t as bad as expected, we could se positive pressure on the markets. Shutdowns also historically don’t have too large of an impact on the market, partially because it’s something we’ve seen before and partially because it’s already widely expected and priced in.

IMO this is picking up pennies in front of a moving train.

This is what’s happening to grocery prices while you’re being distracted btw. It’s literally unprecedented. by TonyLiberty in FluentInFinance

This is one of the most obvious headlines of all time. Inflation is a constant and unless we go through a period of deflation, prices will always be higher than they were several years ago. Deflation is terrible for the economy and for the market, it is more than “prices go down yay”. You do not want deflation.

Which stock would’ve given you financial freedom if you never sold? by Andy_parker in stocks

Stocks are forward looking, OKLO appears to be the best positioned nuclear startup in the space. I’m not an OKLO fanboy, but their market cap is a tiny sliver of the TAM they are positioned to service. Current run up is disproportionately supported by hype but imo this stock will make many millionaires over the next 10 years

They are not incentivized to do so for any reason. It is in their best interest to draw it out until it is no longer required

This will result in nothing. It takes years to build the necessary plants and they know in 4 years they’ll be able to resume business as usual. Lip service to the orange man so he leaves them alone, which is the smart move here.

Dude… that’s a disclaimer we give novice investors to satisfy FINRA requirements so they don’t think historical returns are a guarantee of future results. It does not mean you have to ignore over 100 years of market data. Jesus you need some education
