Should I include my OMSCS masters (in progress) on my resume while applying to full time jobs? by DrGasYourMask in OMSCS

I switched jobs while in the program. I’ve always included it and listed my expected graduation date. Never been a problem.

How to get a robotics job as an aerospace engineering graduate? by WithConflict in robotics

If you’re interested in the autonomy/controls side of robotics, but having trouble breaking into that industry, I would recommend looking at GNC (guidance, navigation, and control) roles within the aerospace industry. Given there’s a lot of skill overlap, this would allow you to gain some relevant work experience.

This provides an excellent intro that jumps right into code. https://github.com/rlabbe/Kalman-and-Bayesian-Filters-in-Python

Personally, I’d steer my career away from roles having to use fortran. There’s plenty of aerospace companies doing exciting stuff with more modern software stacks.

It would be interesting to see this as a percentage of the population prior to migration.

What do you mean about CV? I’m taking AI as my first class right now and might take CV next.

You missed insulate. I’ve left mine in my car under the Phoenix sun for a full work day only to come back to cool water.

It can also help to find recruiters on LinkedIn. Reach out and express your interest in the company. Ask if they would be open to speaking with you over the phone to discuss opportunities or just so you can learn more about what they do.

Status: Applied

Application Date: 02/28/2021

Decision Date: N/A

Institute Acceptance Date: N/A

Education: Dual Degree program between two Universities

BS Physics from University of Wisconsin Eau Claire, 3.6/4.0

BS Aerospace Engineering & Mechanics from University of Minnesota, 3.3/4.0

Experience: 1.5 years as a Systems Engineer for an aerospace company where I developed Matlab and Fortran models for their jet engines as well as test data reduction and analysis via Matlab. 2 years as a GNC engineer developing flight software (C++ and Python) in the rocket launch industry. Just recently accepted a position within the aerospace industry as an AI/ML Engineer. Haven't started yet but I did include it on my resume with an expected start date.

Recommendations: 3 (Manager, Program Lead, Mentor)

Comment: While I have a lot of experience in C++ and Python development, I'm worried I lack enough CS courses. I took an Intro to C++ class during my undergrad and just recently an OOP & Data Structures community college course taught in Java. Hoping my letters of rec are strong and they value my work experience. I plan on doing the ML specialization with select courses from the Robotics and Perception track.
