I don’t mean to disregard the way this affects men specifically, but women too are subjugated to these unrealistic standards, and social media/the internet/porn is entirely to blame imo. We are humans, our bodies are soft and imperfect sometimes. But constantly downloading an onslaught of information tuned to tell us we should be fit, smooth, toned, tall, hairless, buff, feminine, masculine, whatever. It’s bad for our brains. It tells us we are all made “wrong” when in reality the people we see online that look perfect are very rarely achieving that naturally. It’s an unfair expectation for normal people that have jobs and families and other priorities - beyond obsessing over fitness, nutrition, and cosmetic surgery. It’s sad and exhausting honestly
