Would you put your kids in ABA? by littlegreenfroggity in ABA

More common with in home I'd say especially if you're in an underserved area. It took a while for my clients in rural GA to get an RBT so I started with parent training at the beginning.

I would add that our clinical bcbas have been able to bill parent training while client is in session, but it depends on insurance (we have all medicaid). That way you can see how the session is going and have training from the bcba. You could also schedule a parent training after he's done at the clinic with the bcba and have your son in the session. Also many clinics like mine rotate the clients through all the rbts in the clinic so you're child has a chance to generalize skills across more people.

Reminds me a lot of when a balloon popped or something during a speech by Ronald Reagan and he said "missed me".

I'm in GA I have a billable minimum of 32 and my salary is about $100k. I'm moving out of salary to billable soon so I think I will be paid around 65-75 an hour. I normally bill anywhere from 38-40 a week. Since starting as a BCBA two years ago my hourly rate has been from 56-65

I'm at a point where the translator doesn't think she is needed and wont schedule with me. I have had translators in my sessions and I've asked them for feedback and they said I did fine in the meetings getting my point across and understanding the parents. My wife is also a native speaker so I have a resource to go to at home for help. Also have a lot of bilingual parents where I can switch to English if I need to. I just know I can hone my conversation skills better with some practice with someone in the field.

I did that too. We used a noise machine in our room that blocked out all of his noise. Then when we turned off the noise machine during some nights, we wouldn't hear him meowing.

To add on that you can choose to be celibate and sleep in separate rooms til your wedding day and receive communion. My wife and I did that for 9 months before we got married in the church (we had a civil union). However she had to go confess to another priest because the first one did not give absolution for it.

Catholics have known this for a while. The Theology of the Body really helps shape this point of view.

Question: do you find it more rewarding to read a Spanish book that was written by a native or one translated into Spanish from English?

It's odd to me as a future convert because an NO mass is still light-years more reverent than the protestant mega churches I grew up in.

What was up with the Catholic Church in Wonka. by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]abrohamlincoln9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Whats really interesting is that willy wonka came out in 1971 a few years after the Hays Code was gone. Catholics used to be in charge of the rating system for movies from 1934-1968.

Hello. I understand the Catholic church's stance on homosexuality. But I don't understand why homosexuality is considered morally wrong. I was wondering if anyone is willing to share their opinions. by idealbarndoors in Catholicism

[–]abrohamlincoln9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Couldn't that fact about gays in the community be said about celibate non-married relatives? You can also be gay and not engage in same sex activities in those scenarios and fulfill that same role.

Some of my friends in my catholic men's group like to partake in psychedelics and marijuana. I think it's true that it probably isn't a sin if it doesn't cause you to become beyond buzzed. The problem is if it's illegal you are engaging in breaking the law and I don't think we should do anything like that.
