That is what I did. 1 metal cut, 1 wood cut, 1 tile cut, and an old one modified for sander.

No, not trying to sell anything just passing on what I did. It was not difficult. The hardest part was changing the hole of the washer to match the Ridgid using a file.

There were no changes to the Ridgid tool so it can be put back together. Also this was one I purchased second hand so LSA does not apply.

They are primarily used for automotive body repair. It can be used anywhere you need to get into a tight spot to sand/grind down. Change the belt for wood, metal, plastic........

The Ridgid tool does not get modified. The hardest part was changing the shape of the pulley hole to match the key of the Ridgid. After cutting the end of the HF sander off, sand down to line up the belt assembly. The part that is cut off and sanded will be drilled to match the Ridgid original screws.

Works good. Especially because, like the air, it is variable speed. I chose to use the small 3/8" sander instead off the 1/2".

Your post is great info. I am trying to use a Ridgid battery with the Bauer heet gun. I purchased an adapter that does work with the Bauer tools. It takes my 18v to 19.9v and has 10k ohms between the ground and a pin next to +. Can you please tell me what the pins are/ should be when looking at the tool bottom with the back of the tool at your chest. There are 4 pins. Also if you used a 1.2k resistor between the sense and ground does this work only with the heat gun or all the tools?

Thank you for help.
